This is an opportunity to bring up an old subject of cars being smuggled abroad. Like the Swan cars. If only Gandhi had sat in them, Indian Government would have tried to get them back for sure.
BTW, the Standard mentioned in one of the cuttings refers to Nitin's car which was prevented from going out. What were these Nabha Rolls's?

Have a look at http://www.mksanghi.com/history.htm

That showroom is the current Reliance Jewelry Showroom on Hughes Road, wrongly represented as being in Jodhpur. Other than this detail, a very nice presentation of the 20HP.

The Baroda "Star of India" is seen around the 20 seconds mark

Towards the end in the distance do you think the Delage can be seen? Not sure but colour looks similar

The features on the Swan Car explained. I wish they had played the horn though

Very poor feedback on the Maharaja cars at Pebble Beach. Which international Maharaja cars are actually present here? I think I saw a PIII in blue. Hope Karl comes back with nice pictures.
The Rajkot Rolls has reverted to its registration RRR65 which it sported when in that museum in UK.
The Swan car would not have been eligible if Nabha had not bought it from that Scot.
I was told that the of Doc Locomobile was also to take part in the drive. Hopefully some more exhaustive clips will be seen.

Todays Times of India Crest edition carries an article on Pebble Beach written by Adil Jal Darukhanawala. Worth to get a copy.

The Star of India can be seen at the 2 minute 20 seconds mark, being driven in the company of modern day cars. Phenomenal road presence !!

We know that the Best of Show winner was a 1928 Mercedes 680S.

I wonder who won in the Maharaja class. Could it be the Rajkot "Star of India"??
