In this older picture, the car is on display. Mounted on the bottom left corner are apparently old pictures of the car when new, and we can see a similar combination.

Thanks Karl, lovely snaps. Any more?? The three maharaja cars giving trouble?? Well, even non maharaja cars once in a while do fail to proceed. After all some allowances must be made for these old ladies. Nice to know however that we are not the only ones that often face this embarassing problem. Can you share with us what the problems were? Most oldies here have problems with dirt in the fuel lines, fuel pump failures, ignition coil failures, condensors miss behaving and of course a battery that decides to give up. Simple but irritating issues.

I recently found this photo while going through my stuff. This Merc may be similar to the ex-Kashmir car, it was probably in the Deutches Museum Munich. At that time my flash got defective, I took snaps with an open apperture, hence the shacky picture. After some local medicine the hands steadied.
One gets an impression of speed, photo was taken around 1994.

Cheers harit

KArlos, Travancore, thanks for the pictures. Anymore of the delage? Locomobile? Since you guys were present, was there any discussion on the cars from India? Maybe with the officials, general public etc? Would be interesting to hear what they had to say about our entries. And, did you hear Manvinder and Nitin talk? We saw and heard Doc and Arvind singhji, but not the other two..

Simple but irritating indeed. The 17EX Rolls had a generator failure and needed a new battery. Please note she has run 10,000 miles last year itself in various endurance events, so this was just bad luck. I could see the Swan car couldn't engage reverse, one 540K Mercedes smoking and fouling, a couple of others being wheeled into posistion after breaking down. I think the Holkar Delage had trouble with the clutch, not sure. She completed the Tour with no problem though.

I have many pictures, will upload once I sort them out. I also have 2 weeks of work to catch up with. I was present for the press conference, all in all a positive atmosphere with much interest being taken, after all India is the flavour of the month these days. Besides Manvinder, Nitin, Arvindsingh and Doc, Jadeja of Rajkot possibly spoke the longest about how he chased the car till he got it, as his car was the most appreceated amongst the entries from India, and rightfully so.

Actually she had a gear box problem as the reverse gear was not engaging. The car might undergo further detailing before she returns to India. Doc's has done a great job here in India and I am sure the more time this car spends in the US, the better as all the niggles can be fixed. At one time this car was in pieces with Chassis, Engine and Body in three different places. Congrats to Doc on all the wonderful work and having a successful trip at PB. Guess the experience was wonderful. Doc was mentioning that Mr. Ratan Tata visited the show and when he saw the number of people from KVCCC he commented that "Looks like the Bangalore Mafia is here"

Here are some superb pictures of all the cars in E1 class and other class

From the above link I have taken sourced the Delage snaps

The car looks so regal and its almost like it was created to be seen on the lawns of PB !

The paint, interior etc looks so immaculate ! Hats off to Doc and his team for a superb restoration given the condition they recievd the car originally.

It will definitely be a good idea to have teh mechanicals sorted while the car is there taking benefit of the specialist in California and make it 100% perfect.

I specially like the blackwall tires on it, whitewalls would have been overkill !

Nice pictures.
Domi, maybe you should also get some description about the pictures. Many know Doc and his family members, many know Ratan Tata and Jay Leno, but Hussein? (sitting in the rear of the red Locomobile) A joke ofcourse, but see what I mean?

Doc must also be having stories to tell of the experience, try to get some.

Cheers harit

Amazing pictures and what a special moment it must have been for participants to meet all these amazing people

In one of the pictures is that Stirling Moss near the Delage?

WOW KPS, Beautiful pictures, many thanks. Doc and his family are very photogenic. They all look happy, having a blast. If your club is planning a get together after their return, can some of us gate crash? Just to hear about their experiences please?? Nice to read that the Delage is going to get some issues sorted out before sailing home. It is a wonderful opportunity, the car already being there. Hope Doc shows some equally spectacular cars at Cartier's.
