| BHPian | I had participated with my 1934 Austin 7,1946 Morris 8 both Tourers,1942 Ford GPW Jeep and 1954 BSA C-11 250cc Motorcycle which has just been restored, and took part for the first time. It was nice having Team BHPian Kasli from Mumbai , who went around inspecting every car and generally enjoying himself. He had left before the price distribution as he had a flight to catch. I won three trophies for ; Best restored car upto 1940 for my '34 Austin 7 Best New Arrival and Bike presented in the most original condition for the 1954 BSA C-11. It was nice interacting with fellow BHPian Ford1946 ,who also participated with his lovely Anglia and won a trophy for it. I am posting some pics (in a few posts as I cannot upload them all in one shot.Mods can perhaps mesh them.) |

The Dodge is white and grey. manish, the container in front is called "Expansion tank " or " Desert cooling Tank ". These came fitted in WW2 Jeeps which were used in desert warfare , so that the water does not drain out through the radiator overflow thus saving precious water and also helps in cooling as the water circulates between the tank and the radiator as they are interconnected , like the coolant tanks of the modern cars. ![]() | ||

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | I'm really glad to see some new cars (at least those that I haven't seen before in these events pictures shared). Like the dark blue Ford Custom, or the BRT Chevy. Incidentally I think this is the same Chevy from the Telco Jamshedpur auction. |

| BHPian | From the pictures one can see that Chennai has some very well maintained and preserved beauties. Amongst them my favourite is the Blue (MDN regd) VW Variant. Last edited by President : 31st July 2012 at 11:03. |

| Some really nice cars there in Chennai, I must say. Lovely, period colours too. Nice to see a nice Peugeot 504, is she re-painted or still in original coat? Petrol or Diesel? The Ford Custom is personally interesting, a '49 model she is, would've liked to see interiors' shots too - I can see white upholstery, is it in the original chequered pattern? Although, white probably wasn't an option then. Nice, a good change to see - from the same cars, again and again here in Delhi! Thanks for the pics, Karl and Dussey! |
