Very true, Amol. About time that focus was turned to quality, rather than quantity of posts here. And a poor MG wasn't triumphed over!

There's a crying need to bring the zing back into the v&c section.

EDIT:

The Pioneer music system in the Premier President posted by Karthik 1100, as ajay99 also pointed, is truly a gladdening sight!

Here's my Herald with some recently fitted accessories:

A pair of period LUCAS RANGER Spotlamps fitted, bought on ebay UK. Another one was the Lucas Fogmaster Foglamp, which I also got but was broken in transit or during Customs inspection!
'didnt bother going for a second one, decided to fit both Spotlamps instead.

Then there's the period Lucas 494 reversing light I fitted to the rear bumper.

Also the Triumph Vitesse steering wheel, which was also fitted as an accessory to Heralds in the UK though twas 'standard' on the Vitesse.

Default Reverse lights

Reverse lights or Back up lights was almost a mandatory accessory for VWs in many countries. The OE one was HELLA(first picture). The cheaper repro ones were FER(second picture) and RUHLA(third picture) which was an East European make.
note the quality difference among the three

I don't know if this found much favour with passenger vehicle owners - would be interesting to know. More up the street of tractors and other farm/earth-moving machines for sure.

In all probability, this would be meant for industrial use. There were a variety of fitments made by VDO, Pierburg, Magura and others, like automatic throttle control units, gauges, governors etc that helped adapt VW engines for industrial use.

Modern cars also have an in built sensor which tells you how long you have been driving.

I may be mistaken, but if I remember correctly, even the Octavia that I had about nine years back had it.

The snake horn is another favorite accessory in early vintage cars. This was largely used in the era of bulb horns.

Here is a picture of a later model car featuring Boa Bulb Horn

Old jeep with its searchlight. The searchlight is facing towards the ground due to the windscreen position, but will post some more pictures soon when the windscreen is in its normal position.
