Do you remember there used to be a Corvair in Hyderabad, white in colour. I used to see it near Lakdi-ka-pul

I was blown away with the Monza ragtop with Rashid Bhai though can never get it out of my mind.

Had it for a few weeks and it drove really well

Around the same time we used to see the Corvair there was also a Mustang in town. I forget the colour, was light, perhaps white too? That too seems to have moved on or repainted

Wouldn't be surprised if some of these cars went into Rashid bhai's collection. BTW any idea what he intends doing with all his cars? Its now well over 30 years since they remain garaged.

There was a good, Red Corvair available with a Lawyer from Churchgate. Two door coupé with the little T- gear shift. That was a many years ago when i could not think of being able to afford the car.

There was this mechanic guy oppsoite teh Police officers Mess behind Khaja Mansion Zaal and he had a red Mustang and hter was a whit one with Shezore Mirza at one time too.

I too wonder what Rashid Bhai has planned for his cars. Its not that he drives them anymore so maybe its for long term investment purposes.

He doesnot have a Mustang though

I vaguely remember reading these Corvairs were not too stable and tended to roll over because of the engine layout or some design flaw

Stable or not, the Corvair looks soooo lovely and Italiano ! The roof floating over beyond the C pillar looks almost like an Alfa or certain Maseratis... was this car designed by an Italian ?
I can imagine the blood red example cruising down marine drive, setting hearts on fire !

That was a whole load of BS from Ralph Nader that lead to teh demise of that car. It did have some small defectt which was later rectified but thanks to all teh publicity and his book, "unsafe at any speed" the car was condemned.

How many of these would there be in India anyway. The cabrio was built in such small numbers anyway.
