Really don't know how I missed this thread! My grandparents used to stay just off Hughes Road and I used to see the BCMA premises almost every day during my summer vacations. And later, once my father was transferred to Mumbai, BCMA was a daily sight on my way to & from school. Brings back very old memories of my childhood. Thanks so much for sharing GTO.

Here is an ad for the newly launched Premier President - however the illustration still shows some features from the preceding Delight model.

Very interesting since the family has known BCMA and PAL folk for decades. I once cadged a lift in a new Fiat 1100D being driven to Pune from Mumbai for delivery to the dealer/customer, when I was a callow 12 year old. Even then I remember being surprised at the speeds the car was run at, given all I had heard about the installed governor for controlling rpm during running in. Every opportunity the driver got, he moved the shifter to neutral and I suppose that kept the engine from seizing at the higher speeds it seemed to be running. I guessed that the governor was either disengaged or was a myth.

I also note MOPAR in one of the photos: I though it was a new initiative with the Compass launch!

Mopar actually started out with Chrysler way back in the early 1900s. Shorter version for 'Mo'tor 'Par'ts. The mention in BCMA booklets must relate to Chrysler/Dodge rather than Fiat. Fiat got access to it only in the 2000s once it bought the American brands. Quite nicely explained here - http://www.turbinecar.com/mopar-history.htm
