Hmm.... I had been looking for this thread but couldn't find it after the first time I read it. The chopped Merc that I posted earlier (In white, posted below) is the same car as this one (the numbers match). I guess the owner's have changed since then & that has led to the respray & interior redo.

i was wondering where i had seen those wheels ishan and wallah you posted the same car in its new look. i think the owner just went for a colour and interior change.
shreeram i hope the one you have posted is being restored to original.

Wonder why he chopped it, the original looked so much better.

OT: when I try to open tutudhawan.com, it just says "Welcome to tutudhawan.com" and the whole page is blank, does he have any other web address?

i think thats his only site. i dont think you would find many car pictures there as he does not allow anyone to photograph the cars. we got to see the cars at his work place but no pictures were allowed to be taken.

Great pics Ishan. Especially loved the Westfalia Camper. Seeing the Isetta I can take a guess where these cars are. Suffice to say no problem of sourcing German spares!

The later Beetle seems really nice barring the missing trim and those ghastly Matiz mirrors. The early powder blue beetle (58-60) however has many non original parts like the tailights, semaphore replacers, switches, Fiat door handles, rubbers etc.

The BSA is a B31 350cc I think.

Nice pics irags. Looks like a VW dealership. Theres a VW Passat in the background.

P.S : What wheels are those on the M800 behind? Looks like it has chrome caps and white-walled tyres.

yes karl even though they have all the resources the cars are not a 100% original. the bike is a BSA 350cc dont know the model but like you say it could be the B31.

Fabulous pictures Ishan. I didnt know we had an Isetta here. The Beetles are in prestine condition. So Volkwagen is in big time. Did you enquire more about their local offerings?

Dippy there is one in bombay as well belonging to a collector. these cars are from the private collection of the owners of kashyap motors and not brought down by volkswagon. the dealership only offered the passat the touareg and the phaeton. only the passat was there though at the dealership.

Of course not Karl, they were the official dealers for BMW for donkey's years in North India & ironically due to a family feud left that dealership now, when it is the real boom time for BMW sales.

But, they have old, old contacts especially in Germany & so sourcing of parts (especially for VW vehicles!) is not going to be a problem!

Yup, this is Automobile Kashyap, now the official Importer & Distributor for VW. Even got a pic of a Pheaton V10 TDi with the engine opened up, will post that later.

And yes, the 800 has white walls with chrome hub caps.

There are 2 Isetta's that I know of & have seen Dippy. One is this & the other can be found on the earlier pages of this thread.

Their local offerings are four: Passat, Touareg, Pheaton & Caravelle. Only the Passat was there in which we sat & started it etc. Didn't TD it since we were running late.

Also got some more pictures of interesting cars. Will post them later in the day.
