Indeed a nice car but that 1.6 is a wheezer and pretty underpowered. The 2.0 or the 3.0 V6 would have made this car an ideal companion to your Mustang.

The XLR was a limited edition version only available in Black and Metalic Green. What was the original colour on this car ?

Also please post a picture with the bonnet closed so we can get a look at its sleek lines.

Below is an email address for the Capri Club in the UK. I am sure they can help with your requirment.

The link to their website is :Ford Capri

There was a hot & gold black wide bodied or with plastic flares owned/parked in bldg net to landmark on Carter rd for many years. The owner was member of Khar Gym as well. She was really hot with balloon tyres - the works. Wonder where she went!

I agree that the Capri has a much smaller engine than the Mustang, but I personally do-not feel the lack of power. Actually, I quite enjoy driving the car.

XLR was a limited edition all three alphabets denoting exterior, trims, wheels and interiors with head rest on seats , conslole etc. All XLR's had a Matt Black tail lamp/licence plate panel. Similarly the wheels were also in dual colour - Black and Silver.

As desired, I am posting a photograph of the car before we started work on the car.

Thanks Jatti Sir.

Is it possible to see a pictue of the dash as it was when you aquired the car ?

What is the make of the carb on this car ?

There was a sweet yellow/ black 2.0 for sale way back in Hyderabad which I tried to buy but it sold before I got to it.

Indrojit the Mustang is obviously a V8. It has the 289 badge with the v on it that identifies a 289 cid V8

Unfortunately I did not take any photographs of the interiors before I started working on the car.The Carb is a double barrel Weber.

There were a few of the fastbacks and a few squarebacks in Hyderabad going for a song in those days. I also recollect seeing a few of the type 3 notchbacks too.

There was one of these fastbacks which had its roof chopped off to turn it into a convertible.

Hey Pavan, I messaged you the address. Got it? Did you order the parts? Btw, I love the kid-like smile on this VW!

And btw, sometime soon, we should start on my car too. Remember the original engine I was talking about, I am getting tit from Bombay soon, have to work out final list of stuff I want to get. Many many thanks to Karl for the find.

Our Very own Imperial s.a.(Sharif bhai) also very recently became owner of a similar car.

Here's another car not a fastback though, undergoing restoration as per the owner
