I have been seeing this car during vintage rallies in Mumbai for years. It has an Andhra registration. I think it is a Lancia.

Best regards,

From both of your posts, I dare to put 2 and 2 together and conclude that this is indeed a Fiat. Is the regn. AAV (Visakhapatnam, AP) something? If so, I'd read about this car in Autocar India (if I recall right) years ago- it was said to have been found in Hyderabad in a sad state, with a tree growing through it! Then fully restored by Manvendra Singh and Chabi Lubwani(?) and eventually a part of the Mallya collection.
'hope this is the same car I'd read about...apologies if proved wrong.

Thats exactly what it is.
Reg. AAV 1899 I was told that it is a Fiat and a very old one at that but had'nt see anything like it before, so the post.
Like Stanher said it is a part of Mr. Mallya's collection but which Fiat is it?

p.s. the person has promised me to take me along next time he goes there, will try to get more pictures then.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge, I do confirm that this FIAT is now a part of the Mallya collection and has been often seen at the VCCCI rallies. I saw it a couple of years ago at the Acres Club in Chembur, where we had a VCCCI prize distribution after Rally and Lunch.

The car is a 1924 Fiat Corsa which used to be a part of the Mallya collection. It was a basket case when purchased and was restored to show standard by Manvendra Singh for Mallya.

Car was said to have royal pedigree, form a state on the current AP border with Orissa, hense the AP regestration.

From the body, it looks like some sort of racing special?

Guys, The NExt meet will be as usual. It will be held on the 5th of April, at 10:30 AM at Five Gardens. Please do try and be there on time. Also, a small restaurant called Tangy Tomato has opened up next to where we meet, and I wouch for the Chicken and Cheese Burgers!! .... So we can all have a bite to eat there without getting worried about our parking issues.
