Look like you all had a nice time. Good to see Ravi's car and Surinder present. Guess his first meet. Will be there hopefully next time.

@Adheesh- where is the picture of your car ?

Default FCCCI Mumbai meet 3rd May '09

And... here are some more pics from my cam.
It was indeed a very nice and enjoyable meet. A good turn out of some lovely Fiats including Ravi's freshly restored 6839 and a new entry 1983 model Padmini owned by Mr. Zishan of Bandra. Guruji Karlos drove down from Pune with Amol to join us and make the meet more "FIATFUL". Really appreciate the energy and enthusiasm of these guys who could do anything for the sake of FIAT. Adheesh was ditched by his driver and couldn't bring his new love 4162, but the FIATFUL Zing in him made him turn up somehow or the other with public transportation, not to miss the meet. Old in age BUT young at heart, Uncle Krish (Feroze Mehta) as usual made his arrival presence felt with his LOUD BULL HORN and by keeping half a dozen of his bright Spot and headlights "ON" even in broad daylight to scare the SH.. out of everyone.

There was a lot of Fiatful interaction after which we barged into "TANGY TOMATO" by now a regular Fast food joint for the FCCCI members and hogged away to glory. Pork sausage hotdog seemed to be everyones favourite and I could see the happiness on the managers face when everyone was emptying their wallets after the sumptuous meal.
Having had a wonderful Sunday morning with the 3 F's (Fiats, Friends and Food), we finally dispersed.

Cyrus, Anil Jain,Gogiji and Kavesh couldn't make it and were missed.

Am I glad I made the trip, it had the perfect recipe - good company, interesting discussions good food and neat Fiats.

Ravi, congratulations once more on realising a dream - the satisfaction is unparalled. And it will keep you busy forever

Gogiji, all inputs from fellow BHPians towards restoration of your dukkars are henceforth on hold till you make an appearance for a meet. You were sorely missed.

And guys, did you notice, Rony has been sneaking around Fiat showrooms and stealing the signage boards outside?

Oh the meet looks purrrfect!! Neat Fiats do make a pleasent Sunday.
Ravi, the more I see your car, the more it looks gorgeous. Lovely work!!

PS: I did make it to 5 gardens, albeit at 12:15pm to have a glimpse of the cars. On finding none, I assumed you guys must have proceeded to Tangy Tomatoes. Had to rush back!!

We had a lovely time at the meet guys. Thanks for all your encouraging words on my dear 6839 in her new avatar. Rony, your Super Select is a case study in originality. I'm going to take a hundred or so pictures of her from all angles.
Thanks for making it Karl. Honoured to have you here !
Gautam (bolbolero) thanks for making it buddy. Now think of aquiring a Fiat !

Hey guys,
Awesome! And I thought this heat puts one off from having a classic drive! So y'all deserve congrats for your bravery!

And ravi, once again, great to see your pride and joy! May the classic tribe increase among today's Desi youth (of which I too am a part of btw!)

And hey, if you notice, the greyish building in the background also happens to be "classic", ie. seems to be from the 50s/60s.....so adds a perfect period backdrop for the spot where the cars, especially the older fiats, are parked!

Man, looking at this scenario takes me back to the scenes from Bollywood movies of yore.......almost into a kind of magical trance!

Default Fiat 1100 1957 Elegant spotted

Spotted this Red Fiat 1100 1957 Elegant in Khar today.
Fairly good condition and wonder who the owner could be?
Not yet a member of FCCCI though.

Dear Rony - if I remember correctly, this car used to stand outside a garage on the Jogeshwari Vikhroli link road. It belonged to a "kushtumber" and had come for "kaam karneke liye aaya" as per the "mekyanik" of the typical garage. Some things never change.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Got this very unusual monogram from a dusty old shop in Opera House. The guy says it was an aftermarket accessory of yore.. for grilles of '59 thru '62. Nice, Nice.

Lucky bum. They were aftermarket indeed, will fit on 54 to 62. They replace the bonnet 'FIAT' monogramme. Nice find, now find me one!

Cyrus - Gogiji's car headlight rings were never mystery - they were indeed popular fitments for dukkars back in the day.
