Default Movie Star Super Select !

Hey guys..
Do watch the upcoming movie "love aaj kal". I think it stars a Super Select Taxi. Which one is this ? To my knowledge the last SS taxi in Mumbai was gone six months back, and is now happily restored as a private car.

A couple of still of the taxi, I guess it comes in a song? Note the amby windscreen beading, minus aluminium insert, did the SS taxi have them?:

First Look: LOVE AAJ KAL Fenil and Bollywood

It appears to be an Amby taxi. Note the pillar between the front and rear door, absent in Fiats of the era.

You're right Amol. Everybody seems to have something or the other to be occupied with on this Sunday. Lets review it next week, then.

and.. I may not be able to make it to Pune on 15th Aug this time as I have some commitments in the family. So, hope you all can make the BESHT of it there and click a lot of pictures for us.

Spotted this "Modded" Premier Padmini is Shahu Nagar area of Mahim today !!!
Many modifications done on it; bucket seats removed, Qualis mirrors & wheel covers fitted, Momo steering fitted.

Moralfibre sent me this link to a very strange sight in the Film Archives.

Rows of Padmini steering wheels - serving what purpose? Perhaps like a vault wheel?

The wheels don't look like Padmini ones- too large with too broad circumferences. 'seem to be for some heavy vehicle.

The horn-buttons are of Padmini though.

pretty cool idea, must aquire couple of dozen steering wheels while the Taxis are being broken, BTW its a file compactor Unit, amazing industrial design thought.
