There was one that was halfway through being restored sitting outside a car mod shop in Secunderabad until last year. Suren181 (and I remember I too) had uploaded some pics. of it. I was told it needed a replacement engine hence the work was stalled. Then one day it disappeared from there, and I think so has the shop eventually.

I think one of the cars they did up had appeared in the weird and wacky modjobs thread as well.

The one that got away.

I would see this car on the road a couple of times in Pune some years back, never thought much about it back then. Of course times have changed since then.

This one owner 66 Delight was offered to me for sale. Very original, missing mainly wheels and some trims. Engine, gear box, steering, suspension - nothing was ever touched, and didn't need major work either. The car was offered to me by the mechanic who maintained it since decades. It even had original tools, keys etc and a cool period radio. The only hitch was that only photocopies of the documents were available, the originals were misplaced. We agreed on a price (good for both buyer and seller), and I said we would do the deal once they arrange for the duplicate books. I followed up for months, nothing moved. One fine day the car was gone - for scrap nonetheless. The party must've gotten fed up getting the papers in order. A very nice car lost.

What is particularly interesting about the car is that it is a 66 model, with vents in the dash, but black meters, not blue. The first and only car I have seen with this combination.

MEET IS AT FIVE GARDENS AT 11AM, with brunch thereafter.

Please kindly spread the message to whomsoever you can. I have sent the message to all the contacts left in my phone after the whole HTC fiasco...But I have missed out on a lot of people. Kindly do the needful.
