Thanks for al the input on the seats.

Here's a detailed shot from my "Instruction book" that shows the front seat with only the backs split.
Has anyone seen this type of seat here?

Notice the floor carpets, very nice! It would be interesting to know what options were available in Italy.

Nice front detail shot, chrome work looks fantastic (hope it still does) and the paint colour is so very nice.

Is it the "Sand Beige" shown on the Fiat Paint Colour Card?

Looking at the interior shots there seems to be wood trim on the doors, were these original?

BTW Amol, you have indeed heard Karl correctly earlier and I do confirm that SPLIT SEATS were never offered on Indian FIATS until PAL introduced them for a change in later PADMINI cars.
Good thinking Rony.
In my personal opinion, the front bench seat is part of the classic charm that a Fiat exudes. Most younger people have never seen bench seats and column shifters, and this is what adds to the uniqueness of our beloved Fiats.. !
My little daughter for instance, loves to sit between mamma and pappa when we go for a spin, and these experiences make Fiats more fun !!

Very well said Ravi.

Bench seats is the most comfortable part of Fiats IMO.

My little niece just loves sitting in the front seat with all her eatables and toys next to her. All thanks to bench seats. he he he.. And bench seats are just like sitting on a sofa..

AFAIK, this is exactly the rare type of "back folding bench seats" that came on the Italian Deluxe Fiats upto 1964 (original Italian counterparts of so called SUPER SELECTS in India) which I have now re-fitted on my SELECT MTJ 5722.

However, I do confirm that the Italian DELIGHTS and SPECIALS thereafter, came with seperate BUCKET seats in front.

I Totally agree, and with column shift, three adults are more comfortable than in the big Ambassador Tank that I have more difficulty getting into the front seat than my sweet WBF-1.

"The more I know, the less I know."

To clarify some points.
1. My Book is for the Italian Fiat "Deluxe" up to 1964. Not available here and no known imported models are know to exist today. ?
2. The Indian "Super Selects" were the top of the line Fiats for the Indian Market.
3. I'm sure somewhere in this fabulous thread are postings that distinguish one from another. Please point me in the right direction.

Can't wait to get my hands on that, yet to be published"

It's to be jointly authored by Rony, Behram, Adheesh, and Karl.
We all get complimentary signed 'first edition' copies .

I'm going to preserve my copy. 25 years from now, my daughter will spring a surprise on team-BHP's "classic automobile books and workshop manuals" thread by posting this oh-ree-G-nal gem of a book, in mint condition.
