Folks, I often drive up/down between Poona/Bombay/Delhi. I have to come over to Poona soon from Delhi and could do so in a Fiat this time. Am I allowed to join up with you guys, somewhere en-route, and maybe for a short time, depending on so many ifs and buts, in my Palio 1.6GTX? Pardon my inertia to spool back (all the pages) to get a hold on the itinerary, so is this on the coming Sunday, the 7th of Feb? Somebody, krupya, laukar sanga malaa!!

Gogi, This was a big Dilemma when we found out the dates for the Blind man rally. But as the dates for the drive had been prefixed, there was nothing much we could do. And even though the Blind man rally is important and im one of the first people to usually take part and register, this time around, the FCCCI came first.

Say what? officially the entries have closed but maybe we can spek to them and have them take us as a special case?
Alas the Kadam's have made arrangements for our drive and they eagerly look forward to it! I spoke to them yesterday. I like your idea though, but we should have preplanned for this. Maybe we should do this next year when lot more cars will be restored and ready.

Yes it is on the 7th of February.
Well any car any place, Prabal. If you dont have your car, why dont you join in mine, maybe you can drive it for some time and give me pointers on what needs to be done further.

Thanks, Amol. That's encouraging. I'll keep you posted before (and if) I set out from Delhi. If I'm coming down now, I'll definitely have my own car with me (the Palio fits in with the Fiat theme somewhat, hence being considered as the ride) but will be honoured to take to the wheel of your Fiat. But, I'm no one to give pointers on your car, although I'll admit that I have indeed harboured a wish to get up close and intimate with your pretty Elegant!

Default Long Distance FIATFUL trip to Rajasthan and back

Our FIATFUL FCCCI - Mumbai Club member Mr. Anil Jain, made a three day return trip to Rajasthan and back to Bhiwandi, from 23rd Jan to 26th Jan 2010 with three friends, in his ancestral FIAT 1100 SELECT MRZ 6018.

They took turns and drove MRZ 6018 day and night, except for the short stay there and covered 2100 kms on this long distance trip to and from their native place back to Bhiwandi. Their very precious family inherited FIAT made a trouble-free trip except for a blown fuse which was a very minor problem to fix, and their beauty also returned an FE of 15 kmpl.

Since Anil has not been a registered member on Team-Bhp as yet, I thought of posting the pictures on his behalf, for everyone to appreciate and applaude the four FIATFUL FIAT enthusiasts in their remarkable and memorable trip to history.

Hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

Excellent! Wow, a long drive that few would dare in a classic!
This would deserve a detailed travelogue IMHO.

Rajasthan appears pretty much the same as I remember having last seen it when we moved out of there nearly 20 years ago (back in 1991!) Most of the scenes, atleast in these parts seen in the pics., appear largely unchanged.

Mr. Anil Jain: I can imagine what a lovely Fiatfull drive you must have had.

PS: Wasn't there any minor repairs during the journey?

Hello Fiat-ians,

Please rush out to buy the February issue of Auto India and go to page 97. There is humour in the 4 letter word, and my Amby can be seen in the background. This is a work by Karl with little input from me.

To know what it is all about you must read the magazine.

Cheers harit

I reply on behalf of Anil, hereby confirming that besides the "Blown Fuse", there was "NO PROBLEM" whatsoever and that is why the car deserves to be mentioned here to be given a "A Big Hand".

Unbelievable! Isn't it?

"JAI HO" - to Anilbhai and MRZ 6018

Thats good. But considering the low quality spares for Fiats these days, you really never know which part will get conked when....
