Lots of care and hard work went into this, sourcing parts was an issue. I am sure the result was worth the effort.
Must appreceate the owner for getting this level of work done on his 'lowly' Padmini. I look forward to seeing the car on the road sometime.

Its amazing how supply of parts has dried up even in a city like Bombay - the mecca for these cars - even good quality bumpers are not available for years - the ones on this car look very tacky to me - but there is no option (other than repairing the originals, if they were with the car).

But, if you look hard enough, you still see rarities like these - however ugly - languishing in bylanes rarely used.

I would ignore sights like these 2 years back - till it hit me that very shortly things like this are all thats available for the taking.

1) That Padmini is simply outstanding. Hats off to the owner for the efforts taken !!

2) Karl, I agree with you. Mumbai's hidden gems don't seem to be drying up.

3) On the same lines Guys - take a look at this one. Spotted by a friend in Mumbai. 1953 ?? So complelety original, (look at the front indicators) but fading away. She desperately needs a saviour.

I can volunteer - point me to it

btw the front indicators are actually taken from an English car - identical units were fitted to Standard 10s and thats how replicas used to be easily available here at one time. They do look close to the originals though.

You'd be welcome to, I'm sure. But it depends on which Dhabhar (Sr. or Jr.) has to pay for it, if you know what I mean?

Amol, why do you think the 2 dukkars are mutually exclusive? Cant they co-exist together? In fact I'm sure your elegant would love company!

But seriously, I too wish someone does pick it up. If it originally came this way (without the side pattis) then it must be one rare model to have!

You both are most welcome, I'm game for anything & wouldn't even bother about who gets to keep it at last, as far as she is rescued. Said that I'm NOT saint either.

Amol: Nah nah never we are good catchers. You already have the sexiest Elegant. Leave this to us mortals.

Hadn't notice that patti thing, now only if SS would reveal its location & other details, if available with him.

At the end of the day it will be a nice addition to FCCCI.

And if after so many replies, the beauty still needs a home. Count the Bangalore brigade .

Altough we should be content with some awesome stuff (including a TV), but then we are always greedy.

Also I remember Cyrus stating about their 1958 Select restoration and also of a Delight in some other forum. How about some pictures for us hungry soles.
