Bhai,

can I get those lovely white wall tyres. They will rot there and would be of no use. I can put them to better use.

Wow! If it's a project - it's a pity she's abandoned.
The wheels and tyres look ready for a 'clean sweep' kind of robbery.

When I had first seen her in last October, she was just skeleton with rust primer so some work has indeed been done. I am not sure if its ABANDONED now because she is quite clean for an abandoned car, the even on on road side. I am told that it belongs to a Bawaji & Dadar Parsi Colony not being too far, I will accept it but have to say that the progress is painfully slow but indeed there.

DISCLAIMER: Gentlemen, Please don't give me ideas. I tend to get carried away.

By far, one of the best restoration threads of a Padmini in Team Bhp.

Yesterday I noticed something strange on my '72 Delight. On the right side of the bulkhead (mirror position to where the chassis number is stamped) I noticed the lettering FIAT 103 G-1 stamped.

Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai-01.jpg

It reminded me of a similar stamping in a friends car, also a '72 Delight. He had mentioned that the previous owner of his car told him that it is related to some VIP quota cars or thereabout. Can anyone confirm this? Behram, do you remember seeing such stampings?

Karl, Yes this is what I was told by Divte. In those times waiting was 8 years, and Govt. Bureaucrats, Ministers and their Pa's, Armed Forces etc were entitled to special allotment. This was one such release, for Armed forces person.

Dear Karl - there used to be something called "VIP CAR". There were no special markings, I am seeing this mark for the first time. I think your "special" (orange with white top 1978 model) was also a VIP car.

Best regards,
