MRG 9843. Im sorry guys, this is not thesame one i was talking about. And, this doesnt have an original side patti. It has a sticker. Also it has revese lights. Those are not original too.

Also, The Guards on the bumpers seem to be of a Padmini/Delite.

I'm not sure about posting this here but couldnt find any other thread to specicifally serve the purpose.

'came across this at a spares shop. What model fiat could this belong to? Or is it perhaps the steering boss of some other car with a fiat horn button fitted into it?

Oh gawd! Look at the state of the front bumper!! Pity they ended up in the hands of these taxiwallahs who dont deserve them!
Panvel- is this tax no. 9211 by any chance?

That dukkar appears more to be a millecento rather than elegant- seems to have the original 55 tail-lights as well.

That is an accessory horn button for the 1100. The fitting is the same as the conventional button at the rear. They used to be made by Brevatto, and some local companies as well. This one looks local to me.

Thank you for the superb quality photo of the 1100. Cyrus, do take the trouble to go 10 feet closer and get a better shot next time.

For your information, the car is BMC 1006, and I think I saw it somewhere close to Dadar.

Dear Karl
BMC1006 - I know that BMC1006 is in Parel for many years but as the body shape is not good, I have not pursued it.

MMG2544 - I had purchased MMG2544, a black 1957 Fiat from Mr.Dinyar Jal Jamshedji in 1982 (I sold it to Mr.Bandukwalla in Nasik in 1983). Mr.Jamshedji had a bungalow on Juhu beach and he owned Noble Paints. At that time I had seen a blue 1956 Fiat with BMC series but I don't recall the number, with him. I wanted it but he was not willing to sell. That car had twin solex carburettor setup and was immaculately kept. Any information that you may have on this?

BML3434 - this was a black 1956 fiat with the 3 slat grille owned for many years by Minoo Udwadia staying in Dadar Parsi Colony and was maintained in Mr.Sunil Shanbhag's garage. It had a silver scoop on the bonnet. I knew Minoo in the 1980s but now no contact for many years. I think he went abroad. Just for your information. Maybe the car will still be there.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Quite strange to find it in this colour- were they colour coded according to the colour of the car/interior?

These garish colours were probably only available on the local counterparts. Ive seen bright blue as well! The originals that Ive seen are off white.
