Guys VCCCI has announced its rally for 2009, it will be on the 24th and 25th of January. And with our Fiat rally on the 26th in poona It seems like it may turn into one jam packed weekend.

Hopefully they will allow my dukkar to participate. Thats if its back to originality by that time.

What can I say.
I am so moved.
I have heard of so many selfless organisations and the work they do but to experience it firsthand is another ball game. Thanks to President aka Ronnie for organising such a unique way to spend our FCCCI day out.

The Jain family deserve all the applaud they can get. To do selfless work and fund the running of an entire school, solely by reaching out into the family's pockets is nothing short of exemplary. SInce Ronie has already briefed you about the wonderful work Mr. Anil Jain and his family are doing, ill let the pictures do the talking.

First we were directed to assemble at a designated spot, from where we could follow the pilot to the Jain foundation school. We were greeted by the family, where the family welcomed us with a rose bud. We were handed out cold, soft drinks in tetra packs, mineral water and a fresh packed wet tissue. How thoughtful on a hot dusty day, specially since most of the convoy drove in non air-conditioned comfort.

We were led into their beautiful ISO recognised school for the Mute. We learned, that Deaf and Dumb was more like a phrase. The children were merely deaf and owing to that disability they were naturally dumb but could be trained to speak. It all made grim sense. If is not able to hear, how can one learn to speak. Sad but true.

Our various rides lined up outside the School buildings.

Beautiful pictures Gogi. They are calender material. Speaking of which, we need to make some this year as last years ones were highly appreceated. So who volunteers to sponsor them?

Adheesh's car is looking particularly good, kudos to the efforts put in, they are definitely showing!

@Anil. FCCCI is really proud to have you with us as an esteemed member. Oops! sorry!.......A BIG hearted FIATFUL member.
@Adheesh. I must say that your car is an Exclusive PADMINI in FCCCI. All the hard work put in has shown. Keep it up buddy!

Thanks for the kind words Karlji and Ronnie. Now to continue the story where i had left it.

It was time for a round of the School. The principal of the school accompanied by Mr. Anil Jain and others took us for a round of the school.
I have yet to see a cleaner hospital, leave alone a school. Top class modern amenities were available for the students who would be trained here to deal with the outside world, once they underwent the process of learning here. Commendable job again Mr. Jain and family.

The Principal explaining certain techniques whilst taking us through the different classes, where different modes of learning were available, as applicable, from student to student.

After we finished the school tour (if i may call it that) we were informed that lunch was to be served in a few minutes. We were shown around the Dining Room, Kitchen and Stores.

The entrance to the Dining Room

The clean and hygienic stores where goods were kept in neatly labelled tins

The Rotis and Papads being readied for Lunch time.

The planetary mixer for the roti dough mixing and the dough sheeter. Modern equipment being used even in the kitchen to maintain hygiene.

After a sumptuous "Jain" lunch (meaning no onion, garlic, potato, etc, etc, nonetheless, so delicious that no one missed these ingredients) it was decided that the Principal be given a token of appreciation.

Priya, my wife, handing over a box of sweets to the principal of the institution

Mr. Anil Jain then introduced us to his entire family

Another box of sweets was handed over to Mr. Anil Jain by Mrs. Dhabar.

As i was driving back, i could not help thinking all along the way about such selfless work the Jain family does. I wish some of us could take this as an example. I also wished Subhash Karmarkar would be able to make it. Unfortunately he was preoccupied this time. You were missed Subhash.

Thanks friends for coming, thanks Ronnie for arranging a wonderfully different experience and finally Thanks to Mr. Anil Jain and his family. We are proud you could be with us.

I drove off, feeling very humbled and made a promise to myself,...................
a promise to return again, someday soon.

Was out of town myself for a week.
Just returned to "Aamchi Mumbai", today and logged on.
Didn't you'll have a scheduled FCCCI meet last Sunday?
