Are you serious, only 20K? I would by one dozen at that price and risk being called a speculator.
Today a fair price would be 60K+, assuming the engine is original.

The engine should be original, identified by the studs sticking out of the tappet cover to take the original air cleaner. I have seen more detailed pics of the car, it is rough, there is plenty of tin work, but at 50k you can't get much else in Bombay. The car will recover its cost in no time in the film and ad industry

So should I start talking to this guy?. I'll bargain hard & if it works out then this will be my FIRST ever classic purchase so do not wish to have sour taste later on. But after "HUNTING" for Beetle & some real classics (some found but way above my budget) I think this would be nice start-piece. I'm still following that Chevy-Impala in Nagpur.

@Karl- What do you mean by "The car will recover its cost in no time in the film and ad industry"?. Wow do they rent restored beauties?

Guess it can do a Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke in 2010! Its colour is like the Dukkar with its hood chopped off, that was shown in the 1990's Bollywood flick "Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke".
I think that unlike Hollywood the Bollywood guys have rarely any car sense at all.

Raab Rakha.
He may be serious. BUT I have a few questions and comments.
What is price?
Description in the ad and pictures are not matching. He talks of Austin 7 chassis and Tiger engine and gearbox, not complete cars. pictures show complete cars.
Why is the pink car only shown partially?
And in the Ford Y, to keep it cheap when new, Ford produced the crudest car ever.
Now you decide!!

Cheers harit

40k wouldnt have been a bad price for it (IMHO), considering that its pretty original with most of the important bits intact. Lesser cars are being quoted for much more now!

A year back price of 40K is very reasonable, cause I know of many cars including mine bought at same or more rate at the same time with either lot of work or with lot original part required.

And to find part these days, even repro is toughf.
