Avneesh dude,

You will be better off importing it from the US where it will be cheaper to buy and also available in abundance as opposed to buying one from India where they are a bit scarce & prices are sky high.

Cheers

Not a possible option, imports are not allowed as yet. Cheaper in US, only to be seized by customs or released by paying a very high penalty. No Sir, not an option as on date.

Yeah, I had considered that but the rules in India make that an impossible option. Hence I am hoping I can find one in the country.

Are you guys aware if such cars can be imported?

If so, may be I can provide some leads

As far as I am aware It can't be done unless until its on TR of an NRI then too I think older models would be a No No!

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Ram

Allana you are very right. If you can know right people and can pull the right strings at the right time and also have money to support you, you can import cars here in India.

Yes Ajay you are right . Import of cars is possible under Transfer of Residence rule of Indian Customs. The car should be RHD and registered in the owners name for a minimum period of 2 years in the country of residence .Age of the car is not an issue but road worthiness certificate from the country of import should be there. A maximum depreciation of 70% can be claimed on the originalinvoice value of the car for calculating import duty.

Hello All ,

I passed the local scrap market today - the following cars for sale at Rs 35,000 each - I expect this initial demand to be negotiable. I have been informed the cars come with full documentation.
