Happens sometimes here in chennai to adjust with the plans of the big guns. But, chennai has always attracted these vintage cars,i can recall from my dad's days i.e 1970s. there has always been some vintage event or the other hosted here.

Woooooooow, soooooober!! I'm totally bowled out!
I've seen a pic. of this Herald in sumone's album @ flicker.com.....possibly the best early Heralds I've ever seen (happens to be a rare '61-62 Herald.......'not sure if they'd ever been fitted with the handle cum strip on the bonnet.....the very first ones did have jus the handle though).....Btw, sorry if I sound picky but may I point out that its not a Coupe but a Saloon only...Coupe's had a different style roof & hardly any space in the rear, making it a @+2 seater....never made it to India:

It does.....but more amazing is the Stanher in black.........sighhhh!

The 10's dash would've looked even better had the grille in the centre not been painted over.....I'd seen only one dash like this in the scrapmarket once...most 10s I've seen didnt come with a fully closed dash...
Also this seems to be a very early 10 with the steering wheel from an 8...

Amazing pics. I think always the cars in the south are better maintained because of the weather. The southern cars are a treat to see.

That is my grandfather's car, almost, i am not very sure of the number though, it is a very striking resemblance to his car & it's number. my father had the same car with a different grill & the number was MSQ 9232 & i was just 7 years old then. I loved those times when a car was a luxury & we were all of a middle class family & because of my dad's enthu, we had a car. he bought the pennant for 5.5k & sold it in 1979 for 3.5k.

The pennant not only had a different grille but also a different rear end with fins (albeit blunt!) & also a much more attractive dashboard/steering wheel! I have half a mind to fit one on my herald.
