Pre-war Hillman Minx looks much appealing with headlights over the mudguard and wide grill. I think early 30s' or mid-30's were the golden period of vintage car designs.

However this Hillman Minx also seems to be in running condition.

Cheers!

Nope Stanher, I realised today that I clicked two photos of the side and rear but only managed to ger the road. I will tray and look for this car again. It must have come for repairs since there is a garage nearby.

BYJ 1200 - This car used to be parked in a building near St. Andrews college a couple of years back. Is it still in Bandra? Never seen it moving out of that garage parking.

Now that you've mentioned it, I think I know where you mean. Don't know if you've noticed but a little away from where I saw this car & photographed it, there were 3 old BMW motorcycles.

Quite a well maintained example. This model has also become rare.I believe more Austin 8's and Morris 8's have survived as compared to contemporary Minx's, Hindusthan 10's, Ford Anglia's and Standard Flying 8's.
The car has a Nagpur registration but I have never seen it on Nagpur roads. Maybe its a Mumbaikar since decades.

Another original Minx from the Orange City. This one was photographed in 2003.It was in regular use till about 6-7 years back and used to be driven by a senior citizen. I had given him my card saying I will request for first preference in case the car sold. But till today no phone call has come!
The car is sometimes sighted in a workshop but is not seen moving on the roads.

Going by the shape of the rear lights, I wonder if this car was a turquoise green one that I had once seen at a rally here a few years ago. It was then owned by a mechanic. 'cant seem to find the pics. in my PC now!

Karl, do you any more pics of this car, I think this is the same car that was recently done up here in Thane and the dealer who bought this car from Hyd also has another car, a Ford Fairmont laying the same garage where this Hillman was done.

Now that you mention, yes it is the same car. Looked much better and more period in its earlier patinated colour. Oh well.

Around 2006, my friend took to me the house in Vijaynagar colony, where similar colour Hillman was for sale, the colour was faded and it was under cover. There was also interesting jeep of Mukramjah was also parked along side.
