My father used to have a Morris 8, 1948 model, hard top. Wooden floor boards were still intact when he sold it in the 90's. It was in fact quite fun to drive, though you needed some practice getting used to the delay between pressing the accelerator and the engine responding. The gears were very smooth.

Heres a couple more pics I had taken at his residence.

Amol, can you confirm if those bumpers and guards are orginal? Freddy insists they are, but they just dont look right to me.

Well here's another old brochure of the 170V roadster, the bumpers on freddys car seems to be off. I am sure when freddy bought the car the bumpers were already there, but in my opinion they are not original. Too thin for a Mercedes and the Bumper guards too ornate. Even the Hubcaps are not original. Compare them with the picture Cyrus just posted. The early Pontons had Hubcaps from the 170's

so the 170 never had any guards..then even this car from the US is not absolutely original..

These look the most convincing to me, though on second thought those are Hillman Minx guards.

All the brochures Ive seen have 2 half bumpers on either mudguard and no guards.

exactly the 170V roadster's never had any guards. This one is one original 170V roadster.

again look at the hubcaps, the ones on freddys car are not original
