Wasif

As far as I know it still has the original power train. It was in use in Trivandrum by the US Information Services (US Library) and then with the Education Department. It was dumped following the first major fuel hike we ever had - in 1973.

Its a pity that the current owner, who is truck fleet owner with own workshop neither restores it nor selling it. Its in a smaller town near Trichur. Several approaches to him in the past were turned down even without a patient hearing. Reason, he wants to restore it for his own personal use.

Hope he gets around to it soon

Thanks and Best Regards

Ram

I think it is the 1947 Singer tourer which belonged to a lawyer from Trivandrum having a 3 digit number 26X.
It was lying in unrestored condition till 2 years ago.
When did it get sold to Calicut?

This vehicle was having some other diesel engine and was used as a truck by a guy near Varkala and it was for sale some 3 years ago.If my info is correct, it was bought by a guy in Trivandrum for less than Rs.50000/- The vehicle has at least 2 decades of tax arrears pending
Mods, please merge this with my previous post.Sorry for the inadvertent back to back post

Its more useable now, sorry purists but that is a fact. Maybe old original parts can be retained for future reconversion.

Cheers harit

if that was the scenario, then it would be quite reasonable,But here most such cars have none of those parts with the owners once they have been changed.so very little chance of reconversion, And also once dieselised and the fact endorsed in the RC, you cannot have change of fuel type(at least here in KERALA)

That really doesnt make sense! Now what if we were to look for conversions (inc. the current Diesel vehicles) to alternative fuel sources in future?!
