Default Jaipur- Vintage & Classic Car Rally - 13 -14 - February -2010

HMCI is organizing a Vintage & Classic Car Rally to Jaipur to coincide with the Rajputana Automotive Sports Car Club's Vintage & Classic Car Rally on the 13 & 14 Feb, 2010. The details of the Rally at Jaipur are as under:


ANNOUNCEMENT OF RAJPUTANA AUTOMOTIVE SPORTS CAR CLUB

12th Vintage & Classic Rally – 2010


Dear Mr. Titus & Mr. Jatti,

We are pleased to inform you that the Rajputana Automotive Sports Car Club, Jaipur is organizing it’s 12th Vintage & Classic Car Rally-2010 on 13th & 14th February, 2010. The programme of this Rally is as under :-

13th February, 2010 (Saturday)

The Exhibition of Cars at the Taj Jai Mahal Palace Lawns, Jacob Road, Civil Lines, Jaipur from 9.00 A.M. to 6.00 P.M.

14th February, 2010 (Sunday)

Flag-off ceremony from Taj Jai Mahal Palace Lawns at 10:00 A.M. to Taj Ramgarh Lodge and the closing ceremony will be held at 4.30 P.M. at Clarks Amer, J.L.N. Marg, Jaipur.

Awaiting pics of the pataudi run.Why don't you just upload them here so that all the HMCI rallies are in one place and easier to track otherwise it just may lie somewhere at the back.

As suggested I shall upload the Pataudi Drive photogrphs on this thread, but I have not yet received the CD containing the photographs. As soon as I get the same, I shall upload the pictures.

This Ford Prefect shows us why we should not throw away old car bodies. See how they can be made use of, and this guy and his car seem to be having fun. This is not actually hot rodding, but you can be very creative.

I agree with you. Nothing on wheels should be thrown !!. I am uploading a few photographs of a 1907 Single Horse Driven Cart, with Big Spoke wheels which was originally built by Harrington Coupe company, London. It has recently been restored to near perfection with utmost importance given to maintaining the originality of the cart. This cart has been painstakingly restored by Mr.Sandip Kathari a member of HMCI.

Default Vintage & Classic Car Display at the Commonwealth Games -XIX -2010- New Delhi

We are very pleased to inform you that the Heritage Motoring Club of India will be displaying about 100 Vintage & Classic Cars, Motorcycles and Scooters at the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi. “The Commonwealth Classic Exposition” will be during the entire duration of the Commonwealth Games October 3-14, 2010 at a 60,000 sq. feet secured, covered, carpeted and lighted display area. The location of our display is a demarcated area at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

The HMCI display will be a part of the Cultural activities calendar of the Commonwealth Games and will be heavily advertised in the electronic, print, radio and internet media. The Organizing Committee of the Commonwealth Games, the Delhi Government and all supporting Government Departments including the NDMC and Delhi Police have enthusiastically supported our display and we expect lakhs of visitors (comprising the general public, participants at the Games, Officials, Indian and foreign tourists, diplomats and dignitaries) to our display.

Our Club’s display at the Commonwealth Games is happening entirely due to the vision and efforts of our President, Mr. K. T. S. Tulsi, Senior Advocate and the kind longstanding support and cooperation extended by Shri M. S. Gill Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi.

Our fully sponsored display at the Commonwealth Games will be executed as an international event and is probably a first in the entire history of the Commonwealth Games.

The HMCI Commonwealth Classic Exposition Committee is chaired by Mr. K. T. S. Tulsi, President, HMCI. Mr. R. N. Seth, Mr. Jitendra Pandit, Mr. S. B. Jatti, Mr. Diljeet Titus and Mr. Chetan Vohra are members of this Committee. Members of HMCI who wish to commit to actively work from now on in the planning and execution of this very important HMCI event are welcome to contact me and join us to make this pathbreaking classic event a huge success.

As we intend to display the best of 100 cars and two wheelers belonging to members of the HMCI in India, we are calling for select entries from members in Delhi, Rajasthan, Kanpur, Poona, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkatta, Indore and other cities in India.

Now i would like to ask you a few things which are -

1). Are non HMCI member cars allowed in this event.
2). Can a person help in this event even if he or she is not a member.

Yes any one wishing to display his Vintage or Classic Automobile can contact us for display of his/her car at the Commonwealth Games - Display. It is not mandatory that you have to be a member of HMCI to be part of this prestigious event. Any one wanting to display their automobile may contact me at the following e-mail id with full details of their automobile along with recent photographs of the vehicle.
