Thanks Wasif, how popular was this model in India? Have you in the past come across this model in the South?

The early Rileys werenot a very common sight in India do sure but there were quiet a few around.

There is a Imp or something similar with a collector in Mumbai and there are several Riley sedans to be found in the South,

The Imp seems to command good valuations.

1935 Riley Imp Cabrio Roadster classic cars for sale

Even the car in Delhi should command a good valuation considering it is a rare Riley.

Mr. Jatti, can you please give more details of this car? I am posting the pictures taken from this thread again

Rarity does not necessary translate in to high values. Its generally a combination or rarity and desireability that does this.

Though in my opinion the Rileys were nice cars to look at but they were not that desireable.

The later sedan engines featured twin cams but the cams were not overhead instead they were on both sides of the crank so the twin overhead valve train covers give the impressiont hat these engines are actuall twin OHC like the Alfa engines.

The 1.5 and 2.5 sedans also had an interesting wire mesh roof probably in the interest of lightness that used to be covered in vwynil like an American car

2011 is the 10th Anniversary of the HMCI and we have planned a number of activities and events throughout the year including a grand celebration of our club’s 10th Anniversary in September 2011.

We had our first event – a short drive starting at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, the 9thof January, in our classic cars and motorcycles from the Panchsheel Club, Panchshila Park, New Delhi to HMCI Life Member K. Darshan Singh’s farm on the old Gurgaon – Pataudi Road. Mrs. & K. Darshan Singh haD very kindly hosted us Club members driving in our classic automobiles, to an outdoor picnic style lunch on the beautiful lawns of their farm.

Some photographs of the event.

That's interesting. How come all HMCI members weren't notified? Was it a restricted-entry affair, sir?
