That Beetle even came to Mumbai and participated in an event about 3 to 4 years ago. He drove all the way from Nagpur to Mumbai and back. And that year too the vintage event in Mumbai was held in a warm month.

So this is what his new place looks like. I had been to his old place when I was in Nagpur maybe 5-6 years ago. That time a Dodge Charger had just come to him from Delhi. The so called restored car did not work properly and he got it running in a day. Do you know that cars are sent to him from Mumbai for mechanical restoration?
Tomorrow I will find out whose Stude that is.

Cheers harit

Not only Bombay, he also joined us in Pune a month later. You can see the car at the event here, next to an imposing Silver Wraith.

Default Nash of Dharmasthala

The photo of this Nash was posted by Pavan Kadam earlier under cars at Dharmasthala. I had noticed not many comments on this car hence some inputs.

If I recollect right this is a late 20's or early 30's Nash. The beauty about this car is that it is a very rare rumble seat car. It is really huge for a rumble seat car and must be seen to be believed! I wonder how many such cars exist in India.

This car has been in Karnataka through out its life. MYS is a Shimoga Dist car.

cheers

Thanks for sharing, I dont think we had even identified it as a Nash for ages. I always thought it to be a Dodge.

Here is a great looking 30s sedan, I have never seen a Stude quite like it. Can some stalwarts shed more light on this model?

This car is presently owned by a member of HMCI Mr.Gaurav Gulati. I just checked the entry forms and it has been entered in the Rally as a 1936 - Studebaker Dictator.

Default Dharmasthala Nash

Here is an old picture posted by Dominator on the Dharmathala Cars.

Studebaker and Nash Cars in India-d181.jpg

You can notice the body style of the Nash, Rumble Seat body style. It is the 4th car after the yellow coloured Fiat.

The car in the picture is actually a 1937 Studebaker Dictator Cruising Sedan..

A bit of a disjoint regarding the year actually. Till 1936, the Dictator had a different front design. The grille and the side strakes (on the bonnet) were separate from each other. From 1937 onwards, the grille was designed to merge into the strakes, giving the car a very radical front design.

Here's a period brochure from TOCMP:
