While Metro Motors was a well known dealer for GM products, here we see they were the agency for Alfa Romeo as well! This dates to 1939.

The list of agents for the NSU Quickly - once quite popular I believe.

We have known Bombay Cycle to have been agents for the Chrysler Corporation, but here we also see they were agents for DKW, Horch and Wanderer.

We've seen ads before for The Swiss Engineering Company (Volkart Bros), but this is probably the first one I am seeing for Studebaker Erskine.

Another ad from Bombay Cycle, also featuring Dodge trucks and Airtemp Chrysler airconditioning, besides a Super Select.

We have often heard of Simpson's as a large organization servicing the South, I think still in existence.

Karl,

In the seventies the glove box handle to pull open was still the flat metal type, your picture shows the plastic knob with an up/down movement which I recall came later??

Maybe I am mistaken though, memory fades.

Ambassador experts like you should know, maybe I am wrong!!

It caught my eye too, but I have to plead ignorance. The car is a Mark 3, I assume post 1974/5, and in original paint. On further checking other cars I see this was fitted to many cars. Whether upgraded later I cannot say, quite possible.

I doubt anyone knows more about Ambassadors than you, having used them so extensively.

After posting I tried to recall our own cars from the seventies.

MRH 7205 was a 1972, MRJ 9636 was a 1974 and MMB1684 was a 1975. All had the old , flat metal ones.

MMB 7411 and 9434 , MMD 5611' all late seventies had these I think..

Therefore this car should be post 1975.

You are correctS
