Try bobs automobile in the US a Buick specialist and he might be able to help for sure. Make sure you have a parts manual with you as that's the correct refnce so that you don't get the wrong item. All the best and lets see some snaps of the beautiful car

Cheers

Thanks in advance!
What make is the original starter motor, should be either Delco Remi or Autolite to the best of my knowledge. If so, what is the model no.? Let me know and I'll try and see if I can get one.

Dear All,

why do you not use googlebaba? Or something similar? Just type in Buick Parts, and you will get a list of sites. At the bottom of the result page there will be more model specific sites listed like "buick lesabre", etc. Many models of Buick had common mechanical parts. And when you contact some of these sites, they also help to source.

BTW, Bob's Automobilia started out in 1979 and specializes in new and used restoration parts for 1920 to 1957 era Buicks. They have over 3500 items available, ... See, when you use googlebaba you can be more accurate and helpful ....

The car is being overhauled in my own workshop in Jaipur. Earlier I had people coming and going from US , so I had a source . Now I dont . So the only way I can get parts is by ACTUALLY paying for the parts and the duty !!!

Well, if it is one of a kind, we would appreciate if we could see it. You can post a picture on "Pic:Vintage and Classic cars in India". About the car being unique in India, well there is a 4-door pillarless sedan in Mumbai which belongs to t-bhpian and part of the mechanics were worked on by a friend.
These are lovely cars, is yours a 4 or 2 door sedan, or a convertible?

Cheers harit

That's in Kolkatta. But you might get disappointed. For the speedometer get them repaired, that's the only way. Do you have Interior Rear view mirror with integrated cabin light. That was available in bangalore.

Mallick Bazar, Kolkata is losing its sheen for vintages and classics. It now abounds in the recent car spares. Ambassadors mostly taxis 15 years and older, Esteems, 800's,Omnis, maybe Astras, Cielos and other recent cars are being regularly scrapped.Their spares are plentifully available.
The older cars are very, very rare now a days. The stocks with the sellers are mostly bought by vintage and classic car collectors. So only if an old car is just scrapped and one is lucky to go there till its spares last, can one get something. Or else, its all business as usual.
I feel the Mumbai market is much well stocked and equipped for us.

I couldn't agree more. Kolkata may have Amby parts in abundance but for Fiat's I'm bit sceptical. Yes I may get them in marginally smaller markets of Jamshedpur or Ranchi.

If its not the original one, please let me know. I will get it for you.

I visited Malik bazzar, and then many more places recently in Calcutta. For my luck only managed a used non working fuel pump. Else only assurances :(.

And Yes Jamshedpur or Ranchi might get you some parts. I did got some stuff from Bokaro .
