| BHPian | Here's an Indian Hot Rod. Premier Padmini running on a 1.8L Isuzu Petrol. Here's something I'd visualised on Adobe Photoshop. Anybody daring to do something like this? ![]() |

That Fiat is the thing of my dreams. Do lets talk more about what would constitute the ideal powerplant for such a car in real terms with whats available in India. | |

| BHPian | Well the concept of building a Hot Rod has been playing in my mind for quite a while. And have been contemplating putting a conti engine in a 40's/50's car and then going the whole process of making it a proper hot rod. The only reason i have been holding back is the cost of bringing back a car that is lying for years, i mean the taxes, registration etc. and especially in kolkata its very expensive. does someone have an idea of how to get around this issue? for e.g. if i buy a 1950 car which has been lying unattended for say 9 years, taxes not paid etc. etc. then the cost of just gettin it to run on the road legally would be considerable. |

When I first saw it thought it must be the best HOT ROD in India and then reading the fine print while disappointed that it was your creation I said to my self what are creative piece of workmanship and a great tool to see what can be done. The next step is to have some one undertake such a project and then find the right shop to execute the project. I've been thinking about building a custom Fiat with a hotter engine, not this big, and putting a flame paint job on it. Any chance you can remove the engine from the photo and put a flame on the front? |

A BIG part of the budget! |

| BHPian | Here's a few photos I pulled from other threads that deserve to be included. 1. A nice "custom", tinted windows would be nice. 2. A great looking "hot rod/custom"! I would like a pair of those rear view mirrors, as nice as I have seen. 3. An awesome "custom" that, if it was in my stable, I would do a flame job on the hood and change out the brown upholstery fabric to another color. |
