MODS must monitor the average price of say all Jeeps listed. For example if the average price is say Rs. 2.50 lakhs for all Jeeps listed, then if any one want to list a vehicle 20% over the average price, i.e. Rs. 3.00 lakhs, their listing must the routed through the MODS. Should the MODS feel that the price is acceptable, only then they should allow the same to be listed. Similarly they should have reasonable average prices for likely makes of cars from 1950 onwards and ensure that the listing is in line with the averages.

This will ensure quality on the TBHP classifieds. Today in the valuation threads we mock at the prices quoted on the other sites, we must ensure that the other Forums do not mock at the prices listed in TBHP

While I do share the sentiment that many ads on the forum and elsewhere seem overpriced, we really cannot (and should not) intervene - it is the owner's personal property, and he can ask the moon for his property, its up to him. That it won't sell is a different matter altogether. Who are we to decide a particular car can be listed at 300,000 but not at 300,001? Its the same argument all over again that has been discussed to no end

True many advertisements quote high and unrealistic prices in the Classifieds section. Indeed, I too fully agree with Karl. Our forum would do well not to fix reasonable or fair prices for any product. The price is for the seller to quote and for the buyer to agree upon.
The same rule is universally applied for Classifieds all over. The websites or newspapers/ magazines where sellers advertise their products generally do not have any norms for the prices quoted.
More so it is for vintages and classics, which do not have any normal laws of economics or commerce governing their sale prices.

Vintage - Fiat elegant - Kochi - Cars
please see the above ads for the same car. When advertised on Teambhp the quoted price is 18 percent more!!! a clear example of people inflating their demands on the teambhp classifieds.
This car previous owner is a Teambhpian,he bought it from the first owner ,restored it and sold it for Rs.70000 or so in 2009.
The same car is now being quoted at 5 times that price

Saw the pictures in vintage 1955 landmaster for sale - oxford series 2 - Ponnani - Cars - edapaal

I would not value this car for more than 1 lakh. Why should any one pay premium for a modded Landmaster?

Cheers

how much should one expect to pay for a 1950's fiat millecento? condition being average, if on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being concourse) it was a 6?

If we buy such cars from outside our state, how will we go about the RTO retest that has to be done once in every 5 years?

Also, if we take an "NOC" and transfer the car to our state registration, the whole charm of the old Registration No. will be lost!

Please throw some light on how we can maintain the documents of these cars without taking the cars physically to their respective states of registration.

Legally, there is no other alternative than taking the car physically to their respective states of registration,if you want to maintain the old number.
Also if you dont have a residential address in that state , you cannot have the car in your name. So the safe and legal way is to get an NOC, transfer the car in your name ,and get it registered in your own state and enjoy the charm of the car.(of course you will lose the charm of the old type number). You cannot expect to have the best of everything
