The first photo is with me, it was on ebay. But there were many copies of such photos, with location mentioned in white.
The cars seem to be an Adler and Chrysler products which should be of interest to Bulldogji.

The other photo is a reprint and was sold by Nalanda, if I am not mistaken. They also had a nice double decker tram photo taken at VT.

Cheers harit

These are very early photos of Mumbai, reclamation was ongoing. At VT there are no cars, in the last photo Western Railway headquarters is under construction. See, no Churchgate station, at it was BB&CI at that time, this grand building being built as a reply to the grandeur of VT.

Below are two postcards,
Gateway with the Bombay Lea-Francis caught, this was a Nepean Sea Road car killed in Thane, Peddar Road and last remains lying in Indore.

Municipal Headquarters opposite VT station, the car would be a OPEL.

Thanks for sharing - the first one where the man's leg is being cranked (?!) is a gem! Never seen anything like this.

Is the Oldsmobile the same car with you now?

EDIT - the early Tourer 'X 7569' appears to be a Plymouth

I am posting two pictures ,the original one and the zoomed one where India can be clearly seen and very faintly Bombay too can be seen, in the lower part of the regn. plate. The picture is dated April 1940.
Gents,
The plate is a 1939 Fishlove Globe-Trotter novelty plate made in America.
There were at least 15 from different 'foreign' countries and they actually made 2 different ones for India.
Cheers
Cedric

A recent picture of a 1938 Austin, that was owned by an acquaintance (seen in the picture). It was sold as the gentleman was aging and there was no one to look after the car..

The car, though not quite like the original in this picture, was in a ramshackle condition and was restored to this condition by this gentleman with his mechanic.
