Bingo! Its very likely to be a Humber, I couldnt recall it at that moment.

This (unfortunately) was never a car belonging to our family but still nostalgic! This is an Austin A 40 Somerset convertible that was used as a hired baraat car for my parents' wedding in 1969 in Madras. I guess this was a time when Heralds/Impalas were yet to take over in this field.
My dad is the groom in the full suit at the back. The car must have been quite comfy considering that those 2 kids decided to take a nap in it!

Curiously though it happens to be a LHD. Maybe it was originally imported into India by someone who bought it in say, the US? Which could also explain the fact that its a convertible? As Ive known of only A 40 saloons over here.
'also saw some pics. of a '50s plymouth (again a convertible) used for the baraat of my uncle's wedding again in madras back in 1974. But unfortunately my aunt showed me the album just before I was leaving the other day, so didnt have time to scan the photos!

I think the car in the picture (second pic., post 18) might be a Lancia Theta.

Cant be, dodge never came with those wheels.

It appears to be a 1925 Citroën B2-B10:

Pardon my ignorance, but howcome these two cars are SO similar, infact almost identical?

That would be understandable, but in this case i really cannot see any dissimilarities other than 1 lug nut!!

You must remember this is still the initial stages of automotive evolution, and body styling was still more form follows function.

See the fender designs are noticeably different, the Citroen front fenders are sharply raked (typically Citroen at the time). The radiator grille of the Dodge apperars wider, hence so would be the bonnet. There is a large gap between the Citroen doors, plus they curve at the bottom unlike the Dodge.

On closer inspection you will see practically nothing is the same in both cars

This is amongst my favorites. Appears to be Italy, and I think I read Lancia on the wheel.

It is not just Italy. It is the Vatican - St. Peter's Square - where the Pope stays. Today it is a place visited by thousands of people. No wonder you treasure the photo. Mohaan
