Glad to have something happening in Pune after a long gap. The setting should be nice (a heritage property). Heat remains a big concern, though it should be a little more tolerable being in the evening.

It was great to have an event in Pune after a long absence. The venue - Fort Jadhavgadh - is a beautifully prepared sprawling heritage property 20 kms outside Pune, and made for the ideal setting. Unseasonal rains played spoilsport for a while, but that brought a welcome drop in temperatures.

The selection of cars was a tad small, though it was great to see the debut of SL Kirloskar's Lincoln after restoration - a terrific job. Amulya Dahanukar's 1938 Mercedes 230 was my pick of the show, ex Bhavanagar. Also making her first appearance in a Pune event was Jaykumar Bhandari's Ford Model T. Fali Dhondy and Zaheer Vakil's retinue of regulars looked fantastic as usual. Also present was Jackie Shroff's Jaguar SS100. Vijay Mallya's 1956 Cadillac made for an impressive sight, and I believe has been with the family from new. Host Adil Jal Darukhanawala drove his Fiat 500C. The white Fiat Select seen in previous pictures has a unique provenance - it would deliver Times of India newspapers everyday from Mumbai to Nashik for 15 years - a welcome entrant in a Times of India event. Giving it company was veldeeps's Fiat Balila and Skoda.

There were quite a few bikes as well, my favorite being a Norton Atlas plus BMW boxer twin. The Vespa Douglas now sports a new coat of white paint, and a BSA Shooting Star made her debut.

As I reached late plus the rains, I haven't gotten as many pictures as I would have liked, but shall put some up over the weekend.

These single seater cars are an answer to most problems today.
Not sure why no one makes them anymore !!

Look at the road, most 5 seater cars you see will have only the driver inside. Car-pooling does not always work.

These small single seater ones will save space on the road (a normal lane will be able to take 2 or 3 of these , will come cheap, run cheap, will give better safety & comfort than a two wheeler, and hopefully reduce emissions too !

Wow both the Jawa 175 and the Perak look amazing. Is it owned by the same person?
