Good going Pavan sir the light color applied does bring out the areas still to be worked on. This restoration seems to be one of the finest restorations i know of with superior quality products being used.
BTW sirji what about the donor car. Is it still there or has been disposed off.

Thank you very much buddy,

Yes, indeed the best of materials are going into the car for any work being done.

And about the Donor car, That will not go anywhere.

We are doing it up after this car is done. But that will be a "sleeper" in the making.

OK so its on the list of cars to be restored. I am relieved to know that the donor is still giving company to the bug and helping her to get back in shape. Do share some details of the paint prep material used.

With me no car will go as scrap. I consider it sacrilege if something else is done on the car than running on road.

The primer work is 90% done Just the underchassis pending, which will be done once we remove the body off the chassis.

The suspension set-up is now looking good, the car has got its perfect height as per me and my mechanic.

The engine also is plonked in. Hopefully we plan to do the test trials after the radiator is fitted. Maybe tomorrow.

Updates not much, but the body tapping is going on for the second time now.

We sprayed the etching primer and found few more places where the body needs a bit of beating. The tinker is taking it slow, but his job is good, so need to give a bit of leeway for that guy.

The engine is not an issue right now, since its starting and running, we are fabricating the accelerator pedal, which in this car is absent.

Once that is done, we will be testing the car extensively with all fittings before sending it off for painting.

Endless wait for the body banger.

He comes today and gone for another 10 days,

I finally found someone who can do this kind of job, these guys had worked way back with me during my VW Bus build up, and presently doing one of my other restoration also. They come handy when my regular tinker would vanish.

Day 2 into their workshop

Default Work on Chassis

A can of worms rolled out once the Chassis and body was seperated

Corrosion Corrosion corrosion....! goodness, how on earth........!

The chassis has lost some of its main strengthening points which i need to re-do, will take some effort and time, but we intent to have a deadline of 10 days for the chassis.

Firstly - I will be getting the whole of the chassis grinded and scraped.

Second - A good 2 coats of Etching primer

Third - 2 coats of Wurth or 3M antirust coating

Work started in full swing today morning.

Works that will be carried out in the next 5 days.

1) Providing strengths to most of the weakened points on the chassis

2) Welding and replacing rusted parts of the Chassis

3) Sanding it down by hand

4) 2 coats of primer

5) 3 coats of 3M or Wurth Antirust coating

Getting the correct guage of metal for this Chassis is becoming a NIGHTMARE.....!

Whole day is lost, and we are either getting a higher guage (Low thickness) or the lower Guage(Really Thick) Hopefully tomorrow's search might prove lucky. There are also efforts to salvage the complete Chassis from the DONOR CAR, but i think we will save that too very soon.

The Handbrake is coupled to the diffrential propeller, need the rubber coupling, any Fiat guys can lead me to something similar................?

Pavan ji looking at the pics of the chassis i think it seriously needs some thorough sand blasting. Another option would be to machine grind the chassis, the same thing which Manish (manishalive) is using for his car. Do share the progress on the same.
