Expect the Civic to give 10km or so in Delhi driving.
Yes the spares + service will be more than the NHC, but still not obscenely so.

If u have the budget for a Civic, then go for it for sure. Its in a different class alltogether and is a better car.

But of course, the Civic. Since you considered the NHC, you might also want to check out the SX4. Appears to offer superb value!

Civic, it is. Maintenance is relatively easy & not much is required on a new car. Yes, you could look at the SX4 also, but the civic stands out, IMO.

Hey Students, whats the point of comparing the Civic with the Sx4? They are both from different segments. It would make more sense comparing apples with apples.

When I test drove Civic MT, I found it a bit slow to take off. A little disappointing. Being a Honda fan and admiror of Civic looks, I walked away blaming it on Deccan Honda, hoping against the hope that thye may have abussed the test drive car so much so that pick up has dropped considerably.

Can this be true? or is Civic really slow?
The pick up did not definately fell worth 12 lacks.

Civic pickup was slow? The car revs to redlines without any problems and pickup is like mad. the low end grunt is missing if that's what you are looking at. If you have slotted to the 5th by 50kmph then you are going to have sluggish pickup.

By the way, I've been getting the argument from morning that the SX4 is better than the Civic. :-)

You are comparing across segments. Its like saying a Swift ZXi is better than a NHC Vtec because it comes loaded with a lot more features than the Vtec.

Ground clearance is 170mm the same as a Corolla, if my memory is right. But the wheelbase is longer, so it tends to scrape speedbreakers when under heavy load. I have a couple of bumps near my house. I don't scrape them when I'm alone or with my wife. But when there are 5 people or 4 people with luggage in the boot, it does scrape. Go lightly over the bump and you will make it without a problem.

Civic is in a different league compared to the NHC Vtec.

Mileage should be around 9 kmpl. I own an AT and I get 8 kmpl. Expect higher fuel bills as I'm sure you can't keep a light foot on the gas pedal !!

Honda has traditionally been low maintenance. But since its a higher segment car, the prices are bound to be higher.

am not sure but i guess the civics will have a similar bill compared to that of Crv, they are from similar platform and are CBU if am not wrong?

Crv regular service ranges between 2-3 k Rs every 5000 km here in bangalore, good part is the cost is uniform and hasnt varied too much irrespective of kms, finished 30 k till now.

Again body parts/spares are exorbitant egs side rear view mirror cost 12k Rs, most parts are imported and at times delay in availability of the same

They are both based on the same platform yes but the Civic is not a CBU. It's assembled in Honda's Greater Noida plant.
