FE of 2 make difference in long run, but If you need ABS and if its available only in LT then you have to go with LT but alloys, rear spoiler etc accessories you can find better than whats offered with stock car, so in that way its better to buy LS and add good accessories of your choice.

However If you are not bothered much about FE go with LT which will be like fully loaded car.

Regards,

Ravi.

Is FE of 1.6 really bad compared to 1.4? I am seeing figures like 10kmpl for LT and 13kmpl for LS. Will the extra 2kms make a big difference in a long term?

Would it be wise going for 1.4 LS and upgrading it later (with alloys, spoiler etc). What I would lose here would be slightly improved interiors, company fitted keyless entry/boot opener, integrated stereo and electric/heater rear view mirror?

Please help me reach a conclusion here.

Nirmal
Nirmal Since your usage is in city i would recommend you 1.4 LS

LS is also well equiped keyless and alloy u can get from outside.

As far as Music system is concerned its not that good also. Its a OK system if you are music Buff. FE makes a diff no doubt.

However if u need more power then 1.6 is not bad option.

Hello all,

Thank you so much for your support. I have decided to go for 1.4 LS. Since I drive mostly in city I dont think I need a 1.6 engine. Other goodies like Alloy and spoiler in LT I would add on later. I started a new thread to discuss on the accessories for 1.4 LS.

Please let me know your comments on this

Thanks again,

Nirmal

Default Finally bought Aveo 1.4 LS

Hello all,

A big thanks to all bhpians who helped me finalise my car. Took the delivery of Aveo 1.4LS last Friday from Garuda, Bangalore. It is really a wonderful feeling to be in my first sedan. Aveo 1.4 LS is a real VFM car.

GM has reworked the gearshift, AC and interiors .
  • The gearshift has really improved now (cannot match Fiesta though).
  • AC is too good. Did not go above 1 yet.
  • The dash looks really sporty with the new dials.
  • Also the back seat has a centre armrest.
I specifically asked for a June 2007 model and got it.
  • The dash reflection on front shield is not at all a problem. You never realise it unless you think there is a problem
  • Also there is enough leg space for driver. Did not face the problem of knee hitting dash as some people reported (maybe because I am only 5'8'')
The pickup is defintely less in lower RPMS (mostly in 3rd gear). But after 2000 rpm there is no problem. I would not classify this as a driver's car. But a good family car for city driving

Accessories added were:
  • Chrome handles
  • Chrome trunk lid
  • GM Keyless entry (base model)
  • Car cover
  • Biege rubber mats
Got a cash discount for Kenwood 4029 stock HU from the dealer. Bought a new Alpine CDE 9881 from Sachin's Autoshop, Koramangala. Will add an amp and sub later. The stock speakers seem pretty fine.

Will post a detailed review soon. Thanks once again all you guys.

Regards,
Nirmal

Congrats Nirmal. Aveo sales seem to be picking up, I can see a lot more of them now on roads and in parking lots.

Congratulations Nirmal for Aveo, its a good car for city.
I drove my cousins March 2007 model and it has a really smooth gear shift and AC is really good too, but its a bit lazy in pickup when you compare it with others cars in its segment.

Congrats and enjoy your ride.....
