I am thinking of selling my Palio Adventure. This is a July 2002 model (one of the first ones) absolutely stock apart from a K&N drop in replacement air filter & an FFE. No dents on the body and the interiors are in good condition (regularly dry cleaned etc). The car has run about 80K kms, needs a change of tyres in the next 3-4K kms. No other expense required on the vehicle.

Any ideas on how much I could sell it for?

What price will one get for the following if it is a private sale?

1. Chennai based TN Reg Tata Indica Diesel DLG Turbo V2. Bought in April 2006. Run about 13000 odd km. Driven only by my Dad and looked after very carefully by him. No major extra fittings etc except Grey Sunfilm, Beige Non leather Seat covers, Pioneer CD/MP3 player with remote, 2 Pioneer Speakers in Front and 2 Blaupunkt speakers at rear. Full service history available. Car colour bright red - wheel rims painted white.

2.Bangalore based KA reg Maruti Suzuki Lxi Swift. Slightly modified to look like a Vxi with Black A and B Pillars. Bought in September 2006. Done about 10300 km. Driven by me. No major extra fittings except the addition of a K&N Replacement Air Filter, Swift left side wing mirror, Sunfilm, Sony MP3/ CD/ ipod compatible system with remote and 2 speakers at rear. Full service history available.Car colour Bright Red -wheel rims painted white.

used Bolero's either Sportz or the GLX version of 2005 vintage usually sell for between 3.4- 4 lacs. If you are able to spend 4 lacs you will get a very well kept Bolero with reasonable mileage on the odo which could have been purchased by its first owner in Mid 2005 or so. These cars will have the XD3PU engine. No turbo. Not as noisy and lorry like as the new DI engines. This engine develops about 68BHP and is a nice engine, useful in the hills etc and for a little light off roading.plus these jeeps can peacefully chug along for a 100K kms on the odo - no trouble at all.

Hi Deadguy,
I did not buy my car through a dealer. In fact, i would suggest that you also avoid used car dealers because they hike up the price like hell! they really do! Besides, there are worse things they can do. Read Tbhp thoroughly to find out what you need to check etc.
Just be patient and look around. If you get only weekends to hunt, keep a time frame of at least a month. then you will get a good car. Used car prices in Bangalore are higher than other cities, but i guess we have to live with it.
Search the net, free ads and ad mag! Do let me know if you need any help.
Go for the Skoda if your budget permits. you get the best deals in that segment!

new excide battery, sony tape/pioneer speaker, xenon security system, A/C, 1 free service, under warranty till 0ct,2008.
Its already 2nd hand - purchased from maruti dealer's ceritified true value used car (It'll be 3rd hand if I buy it).

why not go to New Cars, Used Cars, Buy Cars, Sell Cars, New Car Prices, Used Car Prices - CarWale.com India and check out the rates they give?
Since it is from truevalue, you might have to pay a few thousand extra but try and bargain it down to what carwale says.

Hi Guys,
a friend and I have seen a Ford Fiesta 1.4 EXi 2006 model in bangalore. the dealer says the vehicle has done only 1300 kms in 2 years since the owner is abroad most of the time.
the vehicle drives and looks good. i am yet to get it checked by a mechanic. the dealer is quoting 4.5 lakhs. he is willing to show us the service manual which does not have a single free service entry in it. do you think the price is good and the vehicle is worth going in for? what could be the catch? the body looks free from dents.
i noticed that the battery was not an exide or an amaron. what is the oem in a fiesta? it might have been changed due to the scant usage. should i get the vehicle checked at a ford dealer itself or a private mechanic? also, what fuel efficiency can be expected from the car?
This is for a close pal of mine but i am apprehensive because i do not trust dealers much!

I bought the car for 3.72L OTR. I removed all ICE except for the sony explod HU ( which incidentally was a gift). I think i got a great deal. The dealers were quoting me 2.0L

OT: During entire 3 years and 9 months of my ownership of Santro there was " Not a single puncture"

Need some help. I recently found a guy selling a Red Palio 1.6 Sport, 2006 model with 10k KM on the odo (Through a dealer). But the owner is the US and wants to get rid of the car and hasn't quoted a price. The dealer also said the same and asked me to quote a price. I'm not really sure how much to offer...What will be a 'fair' price for this car?
I tried doing some research online but there arent many ppl selling Palio 1.6 Sport in bangalore. Help!

Thanks anyway guys! I got the car checked with a mech. it turned out that the vehicle had had an accident and two doors were repainted and the windshield was replaced. it was apparent that the accident was serious. when we confronted the dealer (Goodwill Cars, Bangalore - Mr. Khan) he said that he had just got a call from the seller admitting the accident etc.
Horrid most of these dealers are!
