Default Decision between Safari lx, Safari Vx and Scorpio Slx

I have already paid an advance for the Safari Vx but now I am in doubt whether its a waste of money. Will an Lx or even a Scorpio Slx be enough. Please help me decide.

I already own a fiesta 1.4 petrol 2006 july which i will sell.

why not the EX?DICOR 4x2 LX cost 7.2, EX costs 8.2, VX costs 10.2 !

LX TCIC will be lot cheaper but that engine aint that powerful (6.4lac)

IMO, EX 4X4 sounds a better idea. Anyway you are buying an SUV, so better off with one that has it in the blood. Also, LX 4X4 comes around 9.2 Lakh on road, I guess

Goodies like DVD player and reverse camera could be sourced as aftermarket fitment

i would suggest to go for the ex 4x4

i feel that the vx is just waste of money and nothing else

all the goodies can be added later and if you can wait for some time i would suggest the 2.2l one

How about the ABS & Airbags? But if safety is not on your list, sure it doesn't make sense going in for the VX

I'd agree with Suman here. If you were to read his long term ownership review of his Safari VX, he has pointed out that he found a great deal of difference in the braking between the models with/without ABS.

I think you shouldnt think twice and spend that little extra on safety and get the VX instead of the other models.

regards,

I suggest you cancel your booking or adjust the paid amount and go in for the all new tata safari 2.2 which is most likely to be launched in another 15-20 days.

I think you made the right decision in going for a VX. Why change your mind now ?

@Ram

For understanding how the ABS will help, you can refer to the ABS discussion thread (The ABS discussion thread!!)

If you want to go in for the Safari, I suggest wait and then go in for the 2.2L version which should be out on roads real soon. Otherwise I suggest go in for a 4X2 version as you hardly do any serious offroading that might require the 4 X4. Any thing you will throw at it in normal course of off roading it will come out well.

About Safari EX for economy anf VX for luxury/safety. VX is worth it. EX has economy in it. Since new Safari is due soon as per news bargain hard for discounts. May be wait for 2 weeks and TATA might give more discounts.

According to me don't change your mind about If 2.2 ltr new safari is coming. 3.0 is like tried and tested one so its better to buy existing model rather than waiting for new one.

Regards,

Ravi.

He has already paid advance on current pricing, so he wil have to cancel it now and then re-book again.

Perhaps if ram can wait and check out the new 2.2ltr and then make the choice between the two, he will get the best discount on the 3.0 once 2.2 is launched.
