I'm happy that you have crossed all the twists and are now hitting straight smooth tarmac. Will be checking on the 18th for pictures of your shining SWIFT. Cheers

As you rightly point out, 205/55 R15 is a valid upgrade size but it may void the warranty. 185/60 R14 is what you're getting right? That's a decent size- I have Yoko A drives in that size and am happy with 'em.

@Noopster: We get 185's only in Zxi, Lxi has 165/80 R14 and generally Maruti uses JKTyre but mine has MRF ZV2K

Yup- so what I am suggesting is upgrade to 185/70s in 14 inches. 205/55 R15 may be a rough ride (not sure- pls check Swift tyre upgrade thread)

185/70/R14 or 195/60/R15 shouldn't have any issues with warranty. What is the price of Yoko A drives ?

Super feeling dude! I can only imagine how it must be to do something like that for someone in the family.
Sorry if I may have missed it earlier, but are you buying from Wonder Cars ? Or from Sai Service ?
Do you plan to get the LHS ORVM fitted on that day itself ? (I guess LXi doesnt come with one). Me thinks its important from the safety perspective to have both mirrors.

Agree with @sajo 100% if the left mirror is not standard fitment then it's better to get it done on the day of delivery or even before.

Also the tyre size you are looking at looks a bit much of an upgrade why not go with what @noopster is driving on.
and as suggested by @F150

Here is an update on tyre enquiry,
i revisited Anand Tyre Trading Corporation and he asked "Sir Aapki Wagon R aa gayi", i said "Nahi, maine swift khareed li", for one moment he was stunned then he quickly said "Accha hua, usko bada tyre baithega"
Now he first asked me the existing tyre size and i said "165/80 R14, MRF ZV2K" he pulled out a Yokohama S Drive 195/55 R15 but then he quickly said "This may not be correct size since profile is too less , speedbreaker pe Ghis Sakta hai gaadi"
So then he showed me the the A Drive (Noopster, i know if you are reading this you are smiling)

I dont know what went thru his mind but suddenly he went to Godown and brought a Pirelli P1 195/60 R15 Asymmetric Tread, he said it would be the best option
Then we moved onto alloys, i clearly said that i will need a set of Five as i am upsizing the rimsize as well, he gave me a Quote of Rs 21K for Onyx 15" Grey Finish alloys

So here are the prices he quoted
Pirelli P1 195/60 R15 - Rs 5000 per tyre
Michelin XM1195/65 R15 - Rs 5700 per tyre
Yokohama A Drive 195/60 R15 - Rs 5200 per tyre
Alloys - Set of five = Rs 20,000
Buyback for existing 165/80 R15 MRF ZV2K = Rs 2000 per tyre

So it would cost me 35K to change the shoes of my car, My dad is asking me a question "Is it worth it", so guys you tell me, as usual awaiting responses

Pics below in clockwise
1. Yokohama S Drive
2. Pirelli P1
3. Onyx Alloys

Well technically, it is not worth it; in the sense that it is very difficult to explain why one would spend 35K on a new set of shoes. Reminds me of the Lycra tagline: you either have it or you dont.

Keeping that opinion aside, I would recommend you go for it. Let this part be a gift to yourself The alloys look smashing, my choice is the all black, but not sure how the grey looks on the Swift (in terms of how it will go with the grey). Have you looked elsewhere to verify prices/ other choices?

On a personal level. I would avoid the Pirelli.
I would go for the Michelin XM1's
followed by the A drives.
Actually either of the two are good. XM1 experience on @dot's Scorp.
and A drives as mentioned by @noopster ~ i trust the guy.

Alloys look nice.
The Black ones look better, But the white are not far behind.
Tough Choice.
Also as suggested by @selfdrive do have a look at some more examples.
Good Luck!

With the extra 35k, you can go for the VXi, and gotten alloys+upsized tyres some time further down the road, say, as a Diwali gift to yourself.

If you want to just up size, without too much expenditure, stick to 185/70/R14 and you can add alloys later. If you are preferring R15, you will have to source R15 rims. This will immediately cut your cost by rs 20k. Also the prices quoted seem to be slightly on the higher side.
A tyre upsize is recommended for swift. The stock tyres are puny.
Tyres please stick to XM1+ or A drives

@shridhar.s.i: Please stick to 14" if your father is going to use/drive swift. If you are alone driving this swift & would be having 1 or 2 passengers max., then upgrade to 15".
You are getting good buyback for MRF tyres, but please check prices of alloys/tyres at other shops mentioned earlier in thread.

First things first...

Your logic doesn't hold water. The external diameter is what matters and that will not vary significantly when you are within the 2% tolerance. In fact on both my Swift and my Vento now I have the spare in a different size (Vento comes with 14" steel rims as OE stepney while running wheels are 15" alloys).
Don't waste your money on 5 alloys- one will be lying in there wasted anyway. Only thing to remember is to rotate the 4 that you are using well and when you do have punctures, get the alloy repaired and back on at the earliest.

Yup that's a totally wrong size, error of 3.87%. Good catch.

These would be the 185/70R14 size I presume? Those are mine. If I remember correctly the 15 inchers come only in C-drives.

Correct size:-0.81% error only. But why Pirelli? I would say stick to Michelin or if on budget, get Yoko.

Michelin XM1 195/65 R15 - Rs 5700 per tyre

My A drives in 14 inches cost 3500 each so these prices look OK. You may want to PM nikhilb2008 and get his advice: do check on the A/C drive confusion as well. Prices will be 100-200 here and there across cities.

(edit mine)

Buy 4, dude. That knocks off 4K from that quote straight away: 16K seems decent. It's what I paid for my "69" Taiwanese alloys from Premji's Mahim.

Per my calculations you should pay just under 29K if you go with a set of 4 Yoko A-drives and 31K for Michelin. Sounds good mate- I got my 14" setup in 30K flat (of course that was without buyback since my JK Tornados and steel rims were 4 years/55K km old ).

Here's a sneak peek of my baby- you can check them out n the flesh on Saturday:
