2016 BMW 7-Series (G11) spotted undisguised

The 2016 BMW 7-Series was set to make its public debut at the 2015 Geneva motor show. However, un-camouflaged images of the new limousine have just surfaced on the internet. The front styling seems to have drawn inspiration from the F30 3-series. The front bumper features chrome inserts, while illumination on the model seen here is provided by laser headlamps.

The side profile is clean and looks quite similar to the current model. The windows are lined with chrome and the car has blacked B-pillars. At the back the changes are a lot more evident. The 2016 7-Series looks a lot like a flattened X5. Features include new tail lights, a chiseled rear bumper with integrated reflectors, dual tail pipes and a chrome insert on the boot lid that seems to run through the tail lights.

The dashboard is still standard BMW fare, but is considerably cleaner. The 3 spoke steering wheel is split at the lower end, while the infotainment screen sticks out like a tablet, rather than being integrated into the dashboard. Rivals for the next generation 7-Series (chassis code G11) include the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ.
