Re: The 2018 Auto Expo Thread

I am inside the Auto Expo benue from yesterday and the atmosphere here extremely exciting. Mercedes, Tata and BMW have amazing stall designs. Hero stall will have exciting activities. I saw Tata racemo in person and even touched it. People here said that the Racemo project is live and it will come in electric. I am not sure if this is real or hoax. Lets wait for the official announcement. I am really enjoying here and not interested in going out at all.

Re: The 2018 Auto Expo Thread

Has any scoop / secret information about the 2018 Toyota Prado surfaced yet?

And is the BMW X3 confirmed for launch at the Expo?

Sorry mate. Toyota's stall is extremely well hidden behind the walls. No one is allowed to enter.

They had a bolero variant named Stinger as well.

It's a welcome move by Mahindra to for once name a vehicle sensibly.

Looking forward to see some really promising product launches from TATA & Mahindra.

Re: The 2018 Auto Expo Thread

So Q502 or H7 vs the Hexa. Which would be the TATA flagship and highest priced product going ahead?

Would Q502 kill the Hexa?

If you think Fortuner killed Innova, then yes. But that's not the case is it?
I don't see why a similar product layout not be possible with TATA.

UM Renegade Thor: India's first electric cruiser motorcycle teased ahead of Auto Expo debut.

United Motorcycles, a relatively new entrant in the Indian two wheeler space and best known for its Renegade range of cruisers, will unveil the Thor at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. The Renegade Thor is an electric cruiser that will make its debut at the Auto Expo, and the company has just unveiled a teaser ahead of the official reveal.

See the Fortuner and Innova both are based on the same ladder frame platform and for about 30% more you get less space and comfort but better looks and AWD.

In case of Hexa it is ladder frame with AWD like the Fortuner but also like the Innova in AT or non AWD variants while the Q502 would be mono chassis like the XUV or Compass not like the Fortuner.

People buy the Hexa for the rugged build, superb interiors and most comfortable ride. The Q502 may encompass both this attributes using a different method but it's engine performance may exceed the Hexa by far due to 500 plus kgs wt loss.

Further Fortuner is 30% more expensive than Innova while Hexa and Q502 will likely be in the same price range.

What i said was based on price difference. We represent a very small portion of the large market. Heck even i had not bothered researching on the technical differences between the two vehicles.
Do you think the folks who buy fortuner would be aware of what the innova has or doesn't?

The only factors that matter to the indian market in general is the price and looks of a car! So my point was based only on these two factors.

And the 7 seater SUV from TATA is definitely going to be priced higher than the Hexa, there's absolutely no doubt. Hence the point if comparing these two with the likes of innova and fortuner.

The presence or absence of AWD or the platform on which they are built is hardly going to make a difference to the general public who give way more importance to the price segment. Hence, it will not matter much to look at these two cars as similar to the toyota twins.

Even if you completely rule out the other T, these two cars will find buyers at their respective price points! No idea how the 5 seater variant will effect hexa though!
