re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

Looks like this segment will see more effort from car makers. Sales in this segment might grow big stealing away from hatchback segments ?
The front end looks chopped off. Maybe they wanted to move away from the puny bonnet that results from sloping down and keep it more upright.

Looks very good imho. The interior quality seems to be better than before. There was no mention of a CVT variant is expected?

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

This new Amaze looks like a really shortened and boxy version of the new Accord launched in the U.S. last year and I don't particularly like the new moustache grill of these new gen Honda cars but these interiors are a nice step up from the previous generation car even though prima facie some of the interior panels look as if from the old car.

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

This is a good facelift for Amaze and a much needed one as well. The side profile looks a bit like figo aspire and that flat bonnet gives it a mascular looks to it. The dash is new and it no more feels like a copy paste from its siblings. Overall a good upgrade. Wish they had improved the build quality as well. Any news on the Civic yet?

That's a good looking Amaze! Looks like a junior city
Honda could have done a better job for integrating the parking lights switch on that piano black part of the center console! That switch is sticking out like a sore thumb

While this amaze really is a step up from it's first generation, I still didn't like the excessive piano black on dashboard. I infact ruled out first gen amaze for the boring dashboard and here too, that dashboard seem to be dull

However, the car might dent the sales figures of the dzire, found it to be more clean and modern compared to curvy dzire

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

Looks like the new Amaze is finally amazingly desirable!
Honda seems to have realized that their cars don't always sell on the brand name and is smartly catching up with the competition. It seems to be nicely equipped too.
The flat front design also seems to become a fashion with most new cars.

I, especially like the rear design and thankfully there's only the chrome Honda badges and no other garnish.

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

With the launch of the new Amaze, I think Honda has given itself wiggle room in the 10-13L Rupee sedan space. The current Amaze VX-AT costs 9.9 Lakhs on road in Pune. This should be atleast a lakh more , with no more apparent cost cutting.
The sharp upturned nose makes me believe that the Brio on this platform would have a distinct Ingnis-que crossover stance.
Also, since they have chosen to play it safe, I believe this design would find favor with a lot of Far East Taxi drivers as well.

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

The new car looks AMAZE(ing) compared to the outgoing generation. It’s too much to expect from a entry level hatch back with cut throat competition but I would too expect lesser cost cutting measures (e.g. boot/ hood insulation and thicker metal sheets etc.).

The front of the car has more of SUV stance than of Sedan. Modify the body to a SUV and voila you have a very good-looking sub 4-meter Brezza competitor.

Looks like the new Amaze was third only to H5X and SP concepts as the being the most talked about highlight of the expo. Certainly a step in the right direction.

Looks so much better than the current one. Does this mean that a new Brio is around the corner?

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

Honda has done a brilliant job here.
But they should have worked on improving the WRV and Jazz instead of putting efforts in a dying segment.
IMHO, gone are the days when people were looking for sub-4 meter sedan cars.
This is an era of large hatchbacks, cross-overs and compact SUVs.
A sub-4 meter sedan can only make it's place in the market if
1- It is a Dzire
2- If it brings something special to the table, like a 1.5 TDCI , somewhat rare.

Rest may race to qualify for the taxi segment, if they don't they perish.

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

Looking much better from outside in. Good step forward for Honda. The old Amaza certainly dented the brand image Honda enjoyed, if the new version ups the quality along with these better looks, further damage can be controlled.

Couple of good things from the pictures I noticed. Firstly, the sloping of read screen is much smoother and gradual now. Secondly, the bumpers on front and back project outside of other parts of the car, meaning in case of impact, they will be the first one to take it

As per Autocar India -

Amaze will be the first diesel car to sport a CVT transmission.
