Among the most interesting displays at the Tata Motors pavilion is the 45X Concept. This concept, which is in its early stages uses a new "Agile Light Flexible Advanced" Architecture.
Measures 4,253 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,451 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,630 mm:
Tata's signature humanity line flanked by slim LED headlamps at the front:
Rear end features LED tail-lamp cluster and many cuts and creases:
Definitely looks sporty in with the black roof. The car is equipped with wing cameras:
Rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with 235/35 section tyres:
The Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP are products of JTP - a partnership between Jayem Auto & Tata Motors. Both are powered by 1.2L, turbocharged petrol engines with 108 BHP and 150 Nm of torque on tap. It features city and sports drive modes. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard:
The JTP twins could be introduced into the market within the next six months:
Cosmetic changes include a new bumper and grille with a JTP badge at the front...
...and a diffuser and twin exhausts at the rear:
JTP cars ride lower than the standard versions:
Looks fantastic in this silver colour:
Cooling vent on the bonnet:
Red ORVM covers, glossy black roof and roof-mounted rear spoiler:
Smoked headlamps:
Cooling vent with JTP on the front fenders:
15-inch diamond cut alloys look smart. At 185 mm, the tyres gain a width of 10 mm over the regular car:
Rear wheels continue with drum brakes:
Red springs. The suspension has been re-tuned to cope with the increase in power and torque:
Interior features a black and grey dashboard with red inserts dashboard. Red stitching is found on the steering wheel, gear boot and leather upholstery:
Aluminium pedals and floor mats with red borders and JTP branding:
Sporty looking dials with JTP branding:
Black roof lining:
Tata has an AMT-equipped variant of the Nexon compact SUV at its pavilion. The car has been displayed in a new Etna Orange colour. The vehicle on display runs on diesel and has three drive modes – Eco, City, Sport:
The car comes with a manual tiptronic mode for shifting gears manually and features like creep function and hill assist. The transmission controller has features like anti-stall, kick-down and fast-off:
This souped up Nexon is called the Nexon Aero. It gets a body kit, but no mechanical changes. The interiors get piano black finish for the dashboard mid-pad, steering wheel, centre console and door finishers:
Lip spoiler under the bumper:
Nexon Aero will be available in this liquid Silver colour with a piano black contrast roof:
Side skirting and red accents:
Lips under the rear bumper lips:
The Hexa is at the pavilion too, this time in a liquid silver colour with a black roof and mono-grey alloy wheels:
Powered by the same 2.2L VARICOR 400 diesel engine with 154 BHP and 400 Nm of torque on tap:
Large rear seat entertainment screens:
Can't spot both Bolt and Zest in the pavilion of TATA . I was hoping that they might come up with the midlife facelift of Zest at least. Disappointing, if they will let go both the cars off their portfolio and if no facelift is on the cards. Till the time 45X get into production, they should try to revive both the models, at least Zest if not Bolt.
I believe the success of Tigor and Tiago has paved the way for product lines more dynamic and bolder than earlier hence making Zest and Bolt redundant and unnecessary.
Anyway it does not make sense for Tata or rather any company to keep investing in something that doesn't give sales numbers. Operating multiple assembly lines (or even investing in variations for different legacy products to be accommodated on a hybrid assembly line) is not cost effective and hence the right decision to liquidate the legacy products.
The display by Tata nevertheless looks promising for the future provided they are able to take swift decisions.
The Tiago JTP looks rather enticing. It will be sweet to have a hot hatch at that price segment.
The current Tiago XZ costs 5.21L ex-showroom for the petrol model. Even if this version hits the showrooms at 6.5L (sounds reasonable enough), that is some serious power for the price.
Good to see a home grown automaker cranking up pace against the world giants with great quality products and future concepts.
My keen eyes fell on the MRF ZLO tyres shod on the car, they look different from the existing asymmetric pattern tyres, highly likely that they have changed the tread pattern to iron out noise issues reported by many and bring updated version to market soon. If i am not wrong the manufacturing date surely look like from early weeks of 2018
No mention of an upgraded Zest is a tad disappointment.
Not that I complain about the Original Zest. But market moved away from it. Case in point is the New Dzire sans the Swift prefix.
I would have loved a Zest with more glitzy clothing.
No, I am not im a market for a cs but still I truly believe Tata should have an answer for the new Dzire.
,
