BMW G310 R & BMW G310 GS

• The 313 cc engine puts out 34 BHP @ 9,500 RPM & 28 Nm @ 7,500 RPM.

• The bikes feature a backwards tilted / rotated cylinder head, which BMW says provides better weight balance.

• Made in India - and priced very competitively overseas.

• Both bikes are to be launched in India in the second half of 2018.

The BMW G310 R was shown at the 2016 Auto Expo too:
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc00475.jpg

The engine's backward tilted placement allows for a longer swingarm:
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc00535.jpg

Design styling is rather straightforward (unlike some of BMW's quirkier bigger bikes):
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc00476.jpg

Bybre brakes do duty on both bikes. 17" wheel at the front on the 310R:

Completely digital display:

The TVS Apache RR310 and BMW G310 share the same engine (different ECUs though). They are manufactured alongside each other:

Some more specs:

Unlike the G310 R, the G310 GS made it's first Auto Expo appearance this year:

The GS front fork gets 49 mm more travel than the R, and a 19" front wheel (vs . 17"):

This baby GS gets the big-GS styling, and can easily be confused for a bigger bike than it is:

For when you're heading off-road, there's a button on the handlebars to turn off the ABS:
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc00525.jpg

The distinctive BMW beak:

The rubber can be pulled out of the footrests to make them 'enduro ready':

Optional GPS, useful when going on adventures:

BMW R nineT

BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-01-dsc00539.jpg

The R nineT is a customization favourite from the BMW stable (Rs. 18.20L):
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-02-dsc00540.jpg

It's actually designed to be easy to customize. Example: separate engine and chassis wiring harnesses, removable rear frame, enough space for 6" wide rims, the list goes on:
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-03-dsc00541.jpg

BMW say these dials are reminiscent of "Historical times"
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-04-dsc00543.jpg

A 2-cylinder 1170cc flat-twin does duty here. It's also air-cooled, purely for the look of it:
BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018-05-dsc00518.jpg

Here it is in "Racer" guise (Rs. 17.30L):

Re: BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018

They have announced new Prices post custom reductions.

F750 & F850 are priced @ 12.20 & 13.70. Cannot see the specifications but standard R1200 GS @ 15.70 looks competitive.

Not yet.

The new 1200 GS with TFT screens were launched across showrooms last week. Those who had booked the smaller GS also were invited to take a preview of the new console setup.

But no news on when the midsize GS twins will make it to the showrooms.

Sorry for off topic query but does anyone have experience of BMW Motorrad Finance - rates, terms and so on?

With the increase in CKD prices - Tiger 800 XCA now costs Rs 14.37 lakh. Others in the range are not known since they might be awaiting new stocks for new model launch.

This should probably help figure out how the new Tigers would fare against the GS range. Somehow the imported GS is looking extremely competitive against the CKD Tigers.

Re: BMW Motorrad @ Auto Expo 2018

It looks as though offers have started trickling in on the BMWs. These are the updates from the BMW sales person in Cochin that I saw on whatsapp.

Not sure about the R9T, but since all the other models shown above are to be replaced, this should be a clearance sale. A good deal for someone in the market for one of these, as the new models will most probably see a higher price tag.
