Dear Offroaders,

Subsequent to Annual OTR in Jan 2011, Bangalore offroaders have not had chance for OTRs. All were busy in their office schedules.

We felt , we need a new OTR terrain and this time wanted to try altogether new trail. Hence, we chose Uttar Pinakini river which takes birth in Nandi Hills and flows for over 597 kms. But the river is dry for ages now for most of its flow path. Same goes for Palar river bed near chennai.

On 22nd may , Myself, MP Sreenivas and Kamal ventured out to recce the river bed as for as possible. Summer heat was tremendous.

18th June , being saturday is the full fledged OTR in the evening (moon light lit). We camp on river bed for the night and continue OTR on the riverbed and rocky trails for 19th June -Sunday. Return to Bangalore by 19th evening.

Things to carry without fail.

• Each offroader vehicle must have 2 shackles and one Tow Rope.
• High lift jack, if available
• winch if mounted on offroading vehicle
• 10-20 ltrs of radiator water
• 5 ltrs of drinking water
• short eats evening and next day
• spares and tools
• Please check the 4 WD working
• oils and lubricants
• tents and sleeping bag

It is to be noted that , this event is free for all and they have to make their own arrangement for food and beverage. Having said that, the organizers will make minimal arrangements for camping


Starting time from Columbia Asia Hospital, after Hebbal flyover towards Yelahanka at 2 p.m.

I was wondering why things were quiet - and now i know...you had this OTR hidden away up your sleeve ! Pictures look great ..

awesome - cant wait. Signed up; and side note - i've managed to get D-shackles and a good tow rope in addition to previous equipment and with all the sand it looks like i'll get to use it.....really looking forward to this !

Recce normally happens in hush hush. Else, main OTR will not have surprise for offroaders.

It will be fun driving on sand. You will like it

Please equip yourselves with sleeping bag, rain gear and tent.

Any kind of sponsoring in small way is welcome without bindings.

Plesae do check on the whether.

That river bed looks like a rain affected one and hence can be a bad place to be in a thunder storm or rains.

Overnight better camp on the higher grounds please.

Hi Dwaraka

Thats less than 2 people per vehicle. I would like to sit in somebody elses vehicle and learn what Off-roading is all about. If someone can accomodate me in his Gypsy I will be very thankful. Hopefully this will teach me how to prepare and mod my Gypsy for OTRs with a 1st person look at things. My Gypsy is too new to risk rocky terrain and damage.
