The Final Set of Pics from Day#1 SS2.
Team 6-2 Benij in a CJ3A, Kurian Kurian in a TLC80 and Tinku in a Souped up CJ6, followed by Team 6-1 PrabhuAV, in trusty MM540DP, Preetham in nice white MM540 & Pradeep in a Thar CRDe.

Next Batch was Team 1-1, Shahnawaz, Prithvi and Siddu, and Team 1-2 Mahendran in is MG413, Raghu in his MM550XD, & Vimal in his CL550.

Arka, How does one get hold of the pictures & the videos that the O-Team shot? Maybe burn some DVD etc and make it available?

Wish we could have a video team next year to show each vehicle do the obstacle for the benefit of our community

One thing I liked in several SS/Obstacles was that the climb/descent lines were not in a straight line but at an angle. That makes the climb/descent a bit technical and not just a run-gun approach SS/obstacle. One has to carefully plan the angles, throttle & steering inputs in such obstacles and not rely on just sheer power.

I know that in long climbs this can be dangerous and IIRC long climbs were straight and only the mid-small obstacles had angular approaches.

My 2 cents: Please keep this going next year also and not just straight lines up & down

This was a very well organized event, a very technical and testing track, which may look doable since it does not have rocks, water, slush, but it surely it was differently, TOUGH.

Though an over all combination of Man-Machine-Tyres-Team Effort-Strategy are required to make it through, which was the most required component/ factor from the above to achieve a perfect 10?

Did Lighter Gypsies and shorter SWB Jeeps have an added advantage?

A perfect 10 in my eyes need not be a the same in someone else's POV

BTW, The answer to the above varies from individual to individual as well as how one [the driver] manages to understand and harness his vehicle!

The most important factor is a keen eye for the terrain, this can be through the eyes of the spotter also.

This was the 1st Technical SS, where the teams were required to Tow a Vehicle through various obstacles.

Senthil (Blue_Thunder) was the SS Marshal, and can give us the details.

Hi Guys,

My compliments to all the organizers. What a fantastic and well organized event. I don't know if we have events of similar scale and kind in North. If there are, I would certainly like to participate.

Its also interesting to read the Gypsy vs Jeep debate. Though the winner board says a different story, my vote is for the Jeeps.

I thoroughly enjoyed TPC 2011, yes winning made is that much more sweeter.
I must say that TPC 2011 was definitely better than TPC 2010, not just in terms of the organizing but the trail,the special stages etc as well. The organizers have really upped thier game. KUDOS TO THE WHOLE ORGANISING TEAM. The simelteanous starting of the SSs and the inclusion of the technical rounds as a part of the SSs was a great move.

and as khan said.. the individual ss was the icing on the bangalore tpc cake.

Especially to swastikviji and pritvi...right from getting the vehicle and thru the very short rebuild time of2 weeks. and ofcourse khan and jaggu for all the help and advise and constant pushing, making sure the vehicle was ready in time.

Our decision to keep the same team as last year really paid off well, we had many ups and a couple of downs, but we came out on top.
Great job by nitin,chetan and jaggu as spotters.

Khan and spidey getting a FULL/PERFECT score over both days ... is an achievement! dont think its been done before. simply superb!

BLR 2 TEAM of swastik,robbie and rajesh performed really well but sad that they couldnt make it on top.

TPC 2011 was very closely fought right to the finish, with just 8 points separating the top 3 teams at the end of day 1.

NONETHELESS i can vouch that every participant has taken back great memories from the event. and oh man ... what a blast we had we had while coming back discussing all the c**p the 4 bangalore teams did during the event.

Hi Santosh,

This is a simulation where the towed vehicle is switched off (lost mobility) the Team has to tow this vehicle across, 3 obstacles, 50pts for each Obstacle max time 20 minutes.
