Independence day OTR, Return of the willys JEEPS

We had a small impromtu OTR on the independence day . The story behind the title of the thread goes like this , after the vintage car show at lumbini park , we decided to go on a drive in the real JEEPS . Since it was already 3.pm no offroad was planned. After having lunch at shamirpet , we decided to check out the newly rebuilt WILLYS JEEP MB and the CJ3B petrol.

Vehicles attended :
WILLYS MB
WILLYS Cj3A
WILLYS Cj3A
WILLYS Cj3a
WILLYS cj3b
Mahindra Willys CJ3B

later joined by the FJ40 .

It was a treat to watch the 2 JEEPS with the side valve petrol engines . Awesome, precise low end torque .

Superb so many CJ's all at one place, drool maal i say. You guys have some nice terrain also within/close reach of the city i guess.

Wonderful to see so many Willys in a single OTR. It looks more like Willys event.

Hey Frankie,
Please post pics of the FJ 40 in action alongside these beauties too. It seems all the ladies of yesteryears were having a blast together. I love it.

Hi Franky,

Wonderful jeeps. What is the engine configuration. Any info on these would be great. I mean any mods done? I think some are world war jeeps. Right? How much do they cost.

The JEEPs look lovely and totally at home in the terrain. Would be nice to see them in action sometime soon!

BTW could you please post what mechanicals are they running?

The place is sharmirpet lake bed. ITs 20kms from city . CJs is kinda common here, but the star was the JEEP MB.

Salil by the time the FJ40 came alond with another CJ3a, it was dark and hence i could not take any photographs. This FJ attended AAvalakonda 2011 . You can see the pics in that thread.

Shishir . The MB and the light blue 3A have the original side valve GO-DEVIL petrol engine.The green colour high bonnet has the hurricane petrol engine .My green 3A has the om616 engine with a diesel KIKI pump. The grey CJ3B has the OM616 with diesel kiki pump.

MileCruncher i have mentioned the specs above. The blue 3a and the especially the MB are bone stock. Ant more details you want , ill answer.
