On behalf of the Charminar Offroad and Adventure club , i invite you to the event H.O.T (Hyderabad offroading trails).

This is going to be a Annual Event open to all offroaders throughout India.

This year we are doing a one day event , and from next year its going to be a multi day event .

EVENT DATE: 25-09-2011

LOCATION : VIKARABAD (70KMS from Hyderabad)

ENTRY FEE : RS 1000 (for 2 ,driver and co driver).

Additional passenger fee is RS 500.

This cover charge includes packed lunch and dinner.

There is lot of water fording , the track is extremely difficult .

fazal sir, how are you, please keep a place for me in your jeep. though i have registered for this event but i am a little scared to be behind the wheels due to my cervical disc problem. It isnt serious but i do not want to miss the event. i will confirm by Saturday evening. Thank you

It's nice to see a growing interest in 4x4 activities in Hyderabad. Unfortunately I just relocated; would've loved to be there otherwise. The track/grounds would've been at the ideal condition considering the monsoon has just about passed the state.

I just read this in the news today. Translation for non-Telugu folks (emphasis is mine) -

Honestly, if a controlled off-roading event requires permission, pray how is it that so many vehicles are allowed to motor scot-free on our abominable post-monsoon roads? I would think that's a far greater danger to pedestrians and other vehicles than controlled off-roading.

Really sad to know that the event had to be discontinued mid way. The event received mention on IBN Live as well

Members of a city-based adventure club were prevented by Rangareddy police from taking out a rally on Sunday, due to lack of prior permission. According to police, the club members had planned to take out a rally to Chittempally village in Vikarabad and explore the scenic beauty and rocky hillocks. They set off in 38 vehicles from the city. But those who reached there first created a flutter among locals. Vikarabad police stopped the others mid-way and sent them back. No case was registered. Sources said police stopped them suspecting they were indulging in racing.
