How would this track compare to the one used for the Fortuners? From the video it seemed petty tame - might not require 4H lock.

I have heard a lot about the legendary G-Wagens (that weren't here), didn't know about the GL series.

Yes. And anyways, these are all time 4WD cars.

It's the same track. Just the last section was smoothened out a bit to avoid scraping the underbelly.

Guys, this is a marketing kind of video. It's only showing action shots. It's not showing all the sections and the video grapher did not cover all the areas of the track.

These cars are very capable. The GLs with the difflocks are superb and hardly slip or slide compared to the MLs. THe GL 500 is an absolute dream to drive! Love it.

You must understand that this was a performance event. You can't have very difficult obstacles which may require multiple attempts to cross through or the passengers feel scared. This was the ideal mix of fun and adventure for people who have never done it before as well as showcasing the vehicles in a short time frame.

Good to see the Mercs in action. Hope we get to see in India something on the lines of the Land Rover training track, where you also get to experience the off roading capabilities of the Rover (by paying a fee, of course!)
